Yeti Cycles Hires John Pentecost as International Sales Manager

Yeti Cycles, a global leader in high-end mountain bikes, has built on a strong 2010 season by hiring John Pentecost for the role of International Sales Manager. Pentecost, who most recently worked as Product and Marketing Manager for Race Face, got his start in the bike industry as a co-founder of Evil Bikes/e.thirteen components and has over 9 years of experience in the bike industry.

“John and I have known each other for years,” said Chris Conroy, President and GM of Yeti Cycles. “I admired the way he built Evil and e.thirteen back in the day, and I’m excited to finally have the chance to work with him. He brings a varied set of skills to Yeti, and the fact that he’s a passionate rider and gravity racer means he’ll fit right in with our crew at the office.”

Pentecost feels similarly: “To say I’m thrilled about this opportunity would be an understatement. I’ve been a fan of Yeti since I got into mountain biking back in the early 90’s, so getting a job here is a great feeling. Everyone on the staff is passionate about what they do, and it’s inspiring to work with such an awesome group of people. I’m looking forward to getting to know our current network of international distributors, and I plan to draw on my past experiences in helping the brand grow globally.”

Pentecost currently resides in Vancouver, BC, but he started working at Yeti earlier this week. He will be relocating to Colorado in May.

Thanks a ton for all the kind words, guys. I feel extremely lucky - not only did I find a new job quickly, but it's about the best job I can imagine.

Now, as for those free frames dropmachine mentioned . . . :)

Congrats to you. The short unemployed term speaks volumes of your reputation within the industry. Vancouver to Colorado is not bad either, at least it's not Waterloo Wisconsin. I'm not sure how familiar you are with CO, but as Rufus said, Golden is a good location and I'm a big fan of Evergreen as well due to it's proximity to the mountains and the city. Good luck.

Over your shoulder whispering
So many questions:

Can I have your frequent flyer miles?
Does Colorado have soccer fields?
Are there enough rocks left in Colorado for him to smash?
Do iPhones work there?
What does his girl think?
Does this mean I can't stay with him in BC now?
Where do all the suck up letters go to now?
Does USPS have a max # of forwardings in a year?
Does Linkedin know about this?

Your face.
Dear John P,

Its been 24 hours now since you got your new position, and my frame still hasn't arrived. As I am in Canada and this this an international situation (don't make me escalate it to an incident) I would like to know if you can clarify whats going on.

I realize that I have absolutely nothing to do with you getting the job, or really anything in the past, but we HAVE spoken on the internetz on occasion so I feel my no-charge frame is clearly deserved.

Also, please sign the toptube "With many internet loves, John Yeti P."
