Thanks all. Not nervous that she will say no, just nervous about the whole thing working out the right way and working out the way I have it planned.
Get any sleep last night? How's your stomach? I was so nervous that my stomach was sick for a week leading up to the proposal. :)

Slept like 5 hours. Play COD until late, then woke up at like 6. Hoping to sleep in :( I took the day off to button up anything last minute.

Have a great day Kazlx!!! I was a bit nervous but hiked here up a 10 mile trail on the mountain, brought my camera and set it on continuous shooting and was so tired from the hike that I felt great asking and had great shots of it.

She is a lucky girl and to feel this nervous that everything that you planned will go right means that you picked the right girl with a great plan.

Pics!!!

The weekend went great. She had no clue about any of it. My friend got to the beach and was able to set everything up before we got there and she thought it was for her bday. I brought the ring in a cooler which I told her had our dinner in there. She was so happy and was shocked when we got to the restaurant and everyone was there. We stayed at the Avia hotel in Long Beach, went to the aquarium and just walked around. It was a great weekend. Looking forward to the wedding. Not looking forward to paying for it though....

Thanks all. She said the best part was the surprise party, so it made me feel pretty good about setting it up. Of course, after I popped the question, she wanted to call everyone. I just asked her if she could wait until after dinner, to which she agreed.

Apparantly, even though I had talked to an event planner about the dinner, when my best friend showed up to check on everything, he got a blank stare from the hostess when he said he was there for the party of 30. Someone dropped the ball and they hadn't set anything up. He pointed at a small banquet room and told them to set up a square table for 30 and they have 30 minutes to get it done. The restaurant staff hustled and made it happen. So props to my best man.

Awesome way to propose... Glad she said yes. ;)

Congratulations. So was this "beach" spot in Laguna as well? So nice down there. Plus you can sneak away and ride Telonics!!

Lol....yea, it's right at Main Beach at the end of 133, so very close to all of the Laguna trails. She has been looking at places to get married and she really likes this place right off the 133 so far. I asked if it was appropriate to come down Telonics in my tux and full face into the wedding. She said she'll think about it haha.

She was trying to argue that it's 'different' and that she likes it because it sparkles, etc. When I pointed out that a perfect diamond will sparkle more and that if we still had half the amount that I spent on it (as I took it out of my DNDN shares), we would have 10x that amount due to the stock increasing.
It really hit home when I pointed out that we would be most of the way through a new house purchase.

She has agreed that any diamonds she gets going fwd will be synthetic.:thumb:

As for the bad juju, it's just a rock and precious metal. Sell back the gold to a jeweler and re-mount the stone. problem solved.
Speaking of DNDN, it had a pretty huge day today. +7%

Saw that. I sold all of my shares at 52.5 and got back in at ~33 a while back. I'm just riding the wave at this point, as I think it will go vertical once actual sales volumes become apparent.
