Hey everyone,

I have a bachelor party soon and there's nothing else I'd rather do than ride... Strippers got lame for the last few Vegas trip, lol. Anyways, I'm looking to rent an RV for a few days and hit up some downhill spots around California, Oregon and Utah. If you guys know some downhill bike worthy mountain bike parks please point me in the right direction, or any other shuttle-able trails which is worth stopping by. I'm in Socal so the regular spots here I'll probably not put local trails on the itinerary.

Blackrock in Oregon is already on my list; one of my favorite places.

There seems to be a lot of bike friendly ski resorts in Utah, but a search of them didn't really show any one catering to DH/FR/SS/ or jump line riding, mostly XC as far as I can tell. There's got to be some awesome stuff out there though.

Thanks everyone!

Yea I agree the list is a great resource. I've been through there for local stuff myself, but as you know many trails which are a must for any visitor aren't on there. A great start for the ski resorts, but it doesn't describe what features or how great the park is for DH. Like I had described in my original post, many of those resorts have little or no information on how DH oriented they are.

Maybe I should refine my question by asking people who are local which trails they would recommend a friend coming from out of state and what sort of features are there, and what your opinion of them is. I could name a few right off the bat if you came down to Socal, then there are the ones to steer clear of.

Step 1:
Don't canel sh*t

Step 2:
Fill R.V up with gas

Step 3:
Drive to Whistler

Step 4:
Ride/bachelor party

Step 5:
PROFIT!
Fixed!

I had my bachelor party at whistler and it was a m a z i n g. If at all possible, DO IT.

If you decide to stick with the original plans: Oregon has good strip clubs so you can spice up your oregon/utah trip on your way to Post Canyon in hood river. Fun fun shuttles, just got home from there today. When are you going? Post is best when dry(ish).

Yea, Whistler was the plan... until the wedding went over budget, and riding buddies decided to be fags, grow old, and invest in things other than bikes such as houses this year, and money got tight for some as work slowed down in the economy... We had gone the last few years, two of which were road trips up from Socal, so 22ish hour drive.

Post Canyon looks awesome, that would be worth the drive by itself! Keep them coming!

Honestly, unless you're driving through to get somewhere else I'm not sure Utah is worth stopping in at, especially if you're looking for riding like post canyon/black rock. To my knowledge we don't have much in this state that comes anywhere near those areas.

The couple of ski resorts that we have that actually cater to DH riding are more along the lines of rocky, steep gnar.

what month?
if you driving to post or black rock you may as well include Willamette Pass (some of best hardly known Gondola Trails in the West and or Bend (Bend if you have shorter travel pedal or DJ bikes)
I second Willamette Pass. Not a huge resort but fun loose trails. You can make a nice weekend out of it and ride some of the awesome trails in Oakridge as well. They are catering more to trailbikes, but some can be shuttled and if you don't mind a small push once in a while you can run a DH bike on them too.

Oh yeah, oakridge is a very fun area. You could even look up a shuttleable FS trail in that southern oregon vicinity called Ula- sooo sick.
