K I am digging my bike, and I like blue, but i am not really feeling the graphics.

Should I just strip it, leave it raw and clear coat it?
I know a guy who can powdercoat, so maybe red? I do like red bikes. :D

. . . You'll probably void any warranties if you strip it.
heh heh, i have not heard that before. but it would be pretty shady if they did that.

this is all i can find:

What is the warranty policy for SCOTT bikes?
The warranty of frames is 5 year, but shall only be granted in case once a year a maintenance service has been affected according to maintenance requirements as set forth in this manual by an authorized SCOTT dealer.
The authorized SCOTT dealer shall confirm the effected annual maintenance service by stamp and signature.
In case such an annual maintenance service has not been affected the warranty of 5 years for the frame shall be reduced to 3 years.
Costs for maintenance and service have to be borne by the owner of the SCOTT bike.
On Gambler, Voltage FR and BMX the warranty period is limited to 2 years.

So im not sure how i could get the "stickers" off. They look like decals that have a clear coat over them.

Im assuming the bike is powdercoated, so would taking acetone, or some similar chemical, to the decals hurt the powdercoat?

Yeah it will. Anything you do to get through the clear coat to the sticker is also likely to have an effect on the powder coat as well. Even if it didn't directly damage the powdercoat you'd have an outline of the sticker in the thickness of the clearcoat. If that makes sense. To remove the stickers you'll probably do better to just raw the entire frame.

pretty sweet looking whip. you could also put a decent sticker over it that matches the bike somehow. a solid white and black one maybe?

i personally don't think raw with white parts will be a good combo, but you never know! Try photoshopping different colors on it. I think rich grey or charcoal would be a nice combo with white parts.

hey its not like the thing is sitting in my living room un-ridden haha. I have to mess with it somehow, "stock" anything isnt any fun....bike...truck....theres always something that "needs" to be done!

hadnt thought of that, raw and white would look pretty ugly. I was told that powercoating aluminum has to be done with low temp powder since the higher heat can mess up the heat-treating. Ill look for some stickers and see how that goes over.
