It is Friday! Except in the southern hemisphere. And Pesqueebland. What say you, monkeys? Looks like it'll be some road riding for me and wife this weekend. Temps in the 60's. NICE.

I'll be happy when I can put this work week behind me. Next weekend will be even better because tax season will be over and I get my wife back.

Good morning.
Had a pretty fun ride yesterday after work. It was cool and tacky, just like me.
I got passed by a runner with a long beard on the way up. He said "I apologize in advance, there is a large group of runners on the way up" Shoot, I must have been passed by 50 people on the climb. The good thing is just shy of the top I see Mr. Beard coming back down. He said the first runners had reached the top and were heading back down so I stopped, dropped my saddle and got out ahead of them all. I think I yielded only twice for some other riders on the entire descent. Woot Woot!

Glad its Friday! Big weekend planned. The Pro GRT is gonna be sick! I'm super excited to go to dry hill. I have a feeling Sunday is gonna be ridiculous! Supposed to be nice today but turn shi^ty over the weekend. Best be packing the spikes.

I hate this week. Working late every day. And just found out the fork I bought for my bike's steerer tube it too short to run on my new frame. Anyone know where I can find a uncut rockshox totem steerer and crown? ugh

Haha, I love ebay sometimes.

So my daughter has been wanting a skateboard, so I got her one last week. She wanted me to get one so we could ride, so I hit ebay to find a cheap setup.

Moose Old School Fish complete for $35. Looks ok, WTF. So I order it and it came in the mail yesterday.

First off, I notice it's the wrong deck. Good looking deck, but clearly not a fish shape.


So I call the shop up and tell them. She looks it up in the system and there is no distinction between the fish and non-fish shapes, there is only one SKU for OS 10x30. She apologizes, says "Keep it and I'll send you the right one today". SWEET!

So I mount the trucks on the new board and notice they stick out about a 1/2" on each side. WTF? So I measure, they sent me 7" trucks. Pull up the ebay auction, "Trucks: 6.0". OK, so I sent Janet another email telling her they sent 7's when they should have been 6's. It's lunch, I hadn't heard, so I called to tell them of the issue. Talk to some dude, he sees the problem, tells me he will send out a set of 6's today. Awesome.

Then I get an email from Janet saying they didn't send the board out yesterday because they are out of stock on the natural finish, but they have black. I said that was fine, then she replied to tell me she sent a black fish deck WITH 6.0 trucks this morning. AND I got an email from the service department letting me know a set of 6.0 trucks were ALSO sent to me.

So by Wednesday I will have 2 decks and 3 pairs of trucks all for $35. :D

I asked if they wanted me to return the others and they said it wasn't worth it once they covered shipping both ways. Just enjoy the free gear.

So now I need a longboard to put these 7" trucks on. :rofl:

I have to say, I'm damn impressed with the overall quality of this setup. My daughter got a POS from Big 5 for $30 that is just garbage. This setup came with 58mm wheels (a little soft for my taste, but nice) and ABEC 5 bearing that are sweet. The deck they sent me has a great kick to the tail and solid concave. Stiff but not too rigid.

I had pretty low expectations considering the price. But the reality is I might upgrade to the new Thunder Ti Lights for pimp factor and just rock the blank.

Seriously, I haven't ridden with any real intent in about 18 years. But this setup is at least as good as any I had back in the day and I could NEVER get a complete for that price.

I used to get the uncut blanks from Skates on Height in high school, then come up with some crazy ass design and graphics. I was always happy with those blanks, this one seems at least as good.

stick a freaking fork in me....thank god its over. I just worked 15 straight days at 2 different jobs. The last two days in the Ambulance were pure hustle 10 runs in 12 hours each day. between paperwork and decon time we barely had time to eat or hit the head.

not working this weekend, gonna dust off the mountain bike and go for a nice long solo ride Saturday to clear out all the crap.....

it's way past beer 30
