I didn't grow up a Metallica fan, however the Black album was how I was introduced to their music and I still like that album. Its no Ride the Lighting, but I still like it.

definetly a rock theme in all the picks, weather its classic,heavy or alternative, on a small scale id say rock is the music of mtber's, probably much different say on pb though.

But, I did see the Gourds mentioned and that's in there as well...

Cripes.. I don't know... I go from Alt. Country, to old school hip hop, to ska, reggae, ooold funk, blues, punk....

In an attempt to seriously answer the question (though it's constantly changing):

- In Flames
- Vanna
- AFI

The reason I pick these 3 is that no matter how often my current tastes in music change over any period of time, I can always put on an album from those bands and listen to the whole thing beginning to end.
