Hiya Fellow NW RM-

Used the "search" function here, but it didn't work. . .

. . . So who would you folks take your trusty downhill steed too. What shop (try to keep it in the PDX area please), name of the wrench monkey and why?

Sorry, not a DIY kinda person, I'd probably end up with extra parts on the floor if I tried to do anything :(

Cheers,
W

What are you doing? It might be simple enough to tackle yourself, or have someone show you how to do it. Bikes are simple, learn to DIY!

Hiya Thom9719-

The missus and I both have downhill bikes that have been collecting dust in our garage for awhile now and she is starting to itch about riding her bike again.

So, I was looking into having our bikes have a complete tune up or overhauled (I myself would like to repaint my frame), so my lack of wrenching skills (not to mention not having the proper tools) for this type of job say that I should look for some professional help.

After doing some research, I came across Portland's Fat Tire Farm and it seems that their head wrench tech, Jimmy is well experienced in these matters.

Has anyone had any service done at FTF and if so, what is your opinion?

Thanks,
W

the fat tire crew is solid. also check out camas bike and sport if you are out that way. If you are closer to Salem the Santiam guys are also really good.

Hey Bent Biker-

Thanks for chiming in.

Thanks for your opinion on the FTF, but who at CBS would you recommend I see if I decide to go there?

Unfortunately, Salem maybe a bit to far for me.
