Who cares, look at that FRAME!

That's a frame people would BUY if it were available. Specialized sells out of those SX things every single year....quickly too.

Pivot needs to get in on that shizz and take my money.

Any talk of a production run?

I'm assuming this isn't just an M4 with an x added to the paint right?
I'm not sure on production yet but it is a ground up 4X bike. It does use some production tubes in the rear end, but if you look at the lower yoke, lower link, and bottom bracket / upright, and rear end design are all brand new, and of course the front end tubes and geometry are dialed in specifically for the bike.

For right now, Strait has one, I have one on the way here, and there are two more I think. Not 100% on that number. I think that if Pivot gets enough e-mails they might consider building it..!

Get some measurements for me when you get yours built up. If it's what I'm looking for, I'll definitely bug them. So will some other people I know actually..... This genre of bikes needs to grow. Kiddies are into slopestyle if not 4x.

Thanks man!

I have an sx too and that frame grabbed my eye's nuts.

It's cool having one or two options and all for burly 4x bikes that pedal well but you know........I envision a world with up to THREE!!! THREE I tell you!
well here's another?

Banshee Rampant 100mm virtual pivot 4X / slopestyle frame

owned 2 of those (team red/white and raw) and gave both horrible abuse with no complaints

Still.....

Make list of feasible 4x/slopestyle bikes that don't suck.

How long is it? Don't you know enough people that would buy them that it's worth contributing to the market?

Besides I don't even see a bike in that pic. I doubt its existence. :D

The market of SS, bb pivot Slope dedicated rigs is growing. Not only that expensive blackmarket but you can have Dartmoor Shine for dirt cheap, NS had some protos too. They need to refine it but still.
The only problem is those bikes are not really trail oriented with very short CS and steep head angles.

Look closely at the first pic in this thread.

There's a reason I started it. :p

Besides, I'm not talking about trail bikes. The number of people using these things for what they were designed for is increasing. Although I can see the argument for making them trail buildable because they'd be more likely to sell to a greater audience.

I think the bikes you're talking about are much different. When I look at a short travel play bike, I split them up into two groups usually. One being the type I could ditch on a whim and not worry about it snapping, and the other being a lighter, racier bike.

This Pivot looks closer to what I've wanted to to do with a Tazer VP. Short travel, with the possibility of running it a little slacker. I'm just not convinced the Tazer would hold up for me cause I'm a hack with zero DJ skills. The Pivot seems a little more burl, without taking on the tougher characteristics of say, a Killswitch.

Patiently waiting the geo numbers for this bike...

There isn't a big enough market for them, they are made in low quantities and sold at a high price. Roel_koel would have a slightly different opinion being as he was a professional freerider and now imports banshee into the UK... But most people can't justify that bike in their stable. It can't race 4x and its a bit too little for a mini-dh bike and its too short for an xc bike. They are expensive and niche and while everyone would love one, other bikes might be a more sensible choice.

While not a Pivot this one looks pretty neat, but I'm sure Trek will never sell it to the public. Must be the year of the short travel bike, looks long and low enough to work as a 4x/DS bike too.
