..... Ok I get it Ferral hogs are a problem in the states now..... I get it they are dangerous, they are destroying farm land, homes blah blah blah....

What I dont get..... Why someone with a 6k acre ranch calls in so called professionals with a team of dogs to "get rid" of them....... when a simple rifle and a couple nights staying up will do just fine.....

JUST SHOOT THE DAMN HOGS....

is there still hogs at hulda crooks park in loma linda ? if your refering to the hog problem there it's state land and i'm pretty sure they can't call in a guy with a shotgun to exterminate the hogs with extreme predujice.

Caught an episode. Dumbest thing I ever watched. Why keep them alive if they are a problem???

Shoot, cook, eat, problem solved...

 Let's see. You're going to stay up a couple nights with a rifle to clear 6,000 acres of feral pigs.

That would be quite an accomplishment.
I would do a better job than a team that spends a week to get just one, end up hurting two or three dogs in the process, themselves just to tackle a large hog just to find its too large to handle and use a knife to stab it in the heart...............

On this property they had about half a dozen hogs....... I could take at least four in the pack in one sitting.

See...... someone agree's with me.

Aparently they are relocating them..... I just dont get why they would relocate a ferral animal. Its a problem, just put them down and be done with it

Not overloaded but they are still out in that entire range of hills there.... They are even over here in box springs at times too. The good news is taht there isnt enough food to support alot of hogs so there is a bit of a built in population control.

They just did a state sponsored hunt over off jackrabbit trail though a couple months back. Someone was telling me they took a couple dozen hogs.......... Extreme predjudice was used.

The bunker at parliament
Texas legalized shooting hogs from a helicopter. awesome or stupid?
Awesome.... But pretty lazy, they use this method for hunting deer in NZ, in comparison to a deers fast running/bouncing/dodging a fat slow pig is not much of a challenge.
But hey if it's a pest species, all's fair in fun and dinner I recon. :thumb:

Its used a lot here in Oz for a range of pest species. Goats, camels, horses, pigs and donkeys amongst others.

Carried out by a professional shooter and with a proper plan behind it its an extremely humane and effecting method of controlling vertebrate pests.

Some of the youtube vids of good ole boys blasting away with shotguns isn't the best look though.

Boars are faster than people give them credit, make no mistake these animals can move.
