Its for the killswitch, here are the requirements, must be 4 bolt 104, but fit a 1/2 by 1/8 half link chain. Best i can tell, there are sprokets, and chainrings. sprokets fit the half link, but dont come 4 bolt, chainrings come 4 bolt but cannot handle the half link.

I am thinking a 29T as the rear WILL BE a 13T, so 29/13 X 26 = 58, with a 30 the formula = a 60. Bike will be for dirt jumping.

Half link chain is staying, as is the 13T rear cog.

Since the smallest 104BCD ring is a 30t (made by Extralite) and that is most definitely meant for geared chains, you're **** outta luck.

Just get an E13 ring in 32t. Yes, it's 3/32", but that doesn't mean a 1/8" chain won't fit. What catastrophe do you think is going to happen exactly?

And finally, why the halflink chain? Unnecessarily heavy and prone to stretching, not to mention weaker. What's wrong with a normal chain and one halflink?

Word. Full half link chains = pointless imo

Check your options on Dans. They have a race section now that might have some choices.

Mostly because every time i get a normal singlespeed chain its always too long or too short. Lastly because i have the half link already. I know deity used to make rings that fit a half link, but they arent like they used to be. will this fat chain work on a normal E13 ring? The reason i ask is because i always thought the big chains wouldnt work on the normal rings, even the singlespeed ones. Isnt the spacing off?

3/32" rings, like the E13, are narrower (obviously), but you'll be fine, there are no ill effects.

The Profile Imperial, for instance, is also 3/32" but you never hear about that not being suitable for fat chains.

Problem solved, and truth would approve. I used a 36 16 with a E13 ring, gold half link (fat size) and a Surley 16T

Idk about stretching issues, but a half link being weaker than a standard chain? If that was the case then why would a majority of bmx riders choose a half link over anything else, not to mention the design, involving more contact space for the pins to penetrate through overall being solider
For a 26" a half link maybe overkill, but for a BMX, there is no substitute if you ride street.
And a normal chain with a half link, gave me a concussion, so feel free to try it.

Think about how by design halflink chains have two bends in each link (per side). Now think about how that might affect the strength or stretchiness of a chain.

Mixing halflinks and standard links works fine unless you pick a fat-ass halflink and a 3/32" chain, or you're hamfisted with a chain tool. If it's that inherently flawed, I would ask you why Odyssey sells a chain that is just that - normal links (KMC 510HX) with one halflink. You should give 'em a ring and tell them what they're doing wrong.

I'll grant you that's a valid point when compared to that burly KMC chain you're talking about. But I was under the impression that you were saying something like a shadow chain is weaker and will stretch more than your standard SS MTB chain......which in my experience is nuts. So I guess if you're talking about the same thickness, sure......a halflink will be more prone to stretching. So if that's what you meant......my apologies.

But I damn sure know the halflinks I've had last WAAY longer than any mtb chain......or even some of the more pinner bmx ones.
