Give'em to me.who hates theirs
ah yes. gotcha. the bite point adjustment does nothing, so I can't really get the lever as close to the bar as I'd like. I still like the shape of their lever.no leaks, great performance, retarded power love the feel too.
But/
even with the ajuster all the way out,I still feel my lever goes to far in.
Really,if I have mine all the way in ( opposite of how I run ) my lever strait up bottoms on my bar,I've considered maybe they need a bleed ??? but they are solid " all the way out "ah yes. gotcha. the bite point adjustment does nothing, so I can't really get the lever as close to the bar as I'd like. Only problem with R1/The One. I put the brake lever where I want it but now I have to really reach for the larger shift lever. My Formula The Ones didn't sit well with the Alfine shifter.
You might have a kink in one of your lines. Kinks will crimp the outer brake housing leading to inconsistent fluid pressure, which is why you might be getting power and then losing it (or vice versa). If you've already re-bled them (which is super, super easy), try throwing new lines on. That along with a new set of pads should fix the issue.I like em,just I get weird in-consistancies like other people have noticed and braught up.
i hate mine too...i like the calipers but the levers suck. i have xtr trails on there now though and so far so good...who hates theirs
Its better than my old oros. The differances are MUCH smaller. You gotta re-think your lines with these brakes.
Ironicly,in a certain section today,I got more power !? I was on,and my lever got harder,I even ajusted my lever less,2 3 rides latter re ajusted to regular mode.

A few 5-6 minute DH runs should wear new pads in sufficiently. How long do the pads take to bed in? I did about 10 hard stops from 30 mph and have been on 2 rides but I'm still not impressed with the power. I had Elixir CR's before and these don't seem to be much stronger.
Take your wheel off and look at the pads. If they're down to the metal (or almost) then it's definitely time for new pads. If there are no issues with your lines then new pads and a proper bleed will have your brakes feeling great again. I put new pads in and bleed my saints at the beginning of every season and the difference is significant. My brake housing is LONG,and un-cut.
Could it be bouncing and causing this, wich I doupt cause its not getting kinked.
I could need pads and maybe a rotor cause i tuched one like twice for a millisecond getting my wheel off/on wich made me all sourpuss.
Xtr lever on saint ???
I dont even wana know how much a lever is...
I have to do that fairly regularly with my older, non-servo xt's on my trail bike. i consider it standard maintenance on shimano brakes. Though I never used mineral oil to lube the side of the piston. that's good to know.
Well, I guess we can also assume Gwin's running 10 speed as well? I have that shifter on my trail bike and it's genius. It's made me want to revert back to Shimano on my big bike for how good it feels compared to even the 9 speed stuff...Gwin's XTR levers used with Saint calipers

XTR lever+Saint caliper?Someone try and test that for us. Im very tempted to go that way.
If it leaks, but still works, i would assume its from assembly or shipping, if a brake is loosing fluid continuously, i would assume you would know it right away, the lever would come in, or you would need to bleed it.Just got a brand new set of Saint M810 brakes and the front lever is already leaking. I'm assuming it's the master cylinder seal that I've read about. After every ride there is some oil on the lever near the lever body.
