Gotcha. I think I'm almost there as well. Most of my XC rides are suited more towards 140mm. My Mbuzi is definite over kill. I did a 6.6 mile XC shuttle yesterday where I used all 160mm of travel but those are not the norm and that ride would still have been doable on 140mm of travel.

Exactly. I'm already on the burlier side of bike choice compared to a lot of people doing the same rides as me. What attracted me the most to the evo was how dialed it was straight out of the box. The only changes I made were putting my I9 enduros on it, switching to tubeless, and a wider bar and shorter stem.

So far i'm finding it's lighter than my morewood was, descends with MUCH more confidence, and is a stronger climber despite having much more gravity-oriented geometry. Much less pedal feedback in under heavy load, and a propedal "custom" tune that works a lot better for me. The only place i'm having some trouble adjusting is really tight, twisty, technical trails that are slower in speed. That's where the shova really excelled so it's going to be hard to beat in that department. I'm having to learn to corner like i'm on a DH bike

Planning on ripping some laps at the Windrock campground on friday afternoon if you're around.

not in Whistler anymore :/
Me too. Are you listening bike industry?! It isn't the travel that bugs me, it's the fact that no-one makes/specs bikes with forks that have 140/150mm travel and a decently stiff chassis. I love the stumpy evo, but the first change I'd make would to throw on a 36 float/Lyric dropped to 150mm...
ever locked at the pitch?

Here's my 2009 revolt, waiting on warranty undead. I just got some new I9 wheels for it, and will be headed to the US Open this week!

New Whip to replace the stolen bike.

Just picked it up from a Shop in PA, it's a demo bike from 2010. It's a little more beat up than the guy described over the phone but for how much I go it for it's still worth it.
Doing a tear down and a clean right now.

Breaking the bike down to clean and inspect

breaking it all the way down

I started talking to one of the mechanics when I picked up the bike and he showed me the shop's 25th anniversary Yeti 575, I started talking about how much I love my ASR5 Carbon and he tossed me a free pair of socks

He also sold me a Holy Roller for 10 bucks

I'll post pic's after I get the bike all cleaned up and re-assembled.

....and over a pound in weight. That's why I wouldn't put one on!

It's an trail bike on crack rather than a pure AM bike.

@Matt

Nice bike, and thanks for supporting one of my LBS's! Which mechanic were you dealing with, Zach or Brandon?

I would have sold you one of my Holy Rollers for $5!

I'm pretty sure it was Brandon. There was a bunch of guys there when I picked up the bike, they were all really nice. I was blown away by the inventory and setup in the shop. If I ever wanted to open a shop I would model it after that one.

I meant, High Roller. It was a 2.35 dual ply super tacky high roller, planning on using it as a rear on some more tame courses.

um why 2 of the same bike? not a bullsiht answer legit why?
I find that its better to have 2 of the same bike rather than 2 different ones. If you noticed at highland GRT i had a little incident that destroyed the rear wheel, front tire, and front rotor of the green bike, I still made my race run because i had the other bike. If i **** something up, im not **** out of luck, i can just jump onto the other 1 and the only different thing is the color. I will hear alot of **** for it, but i think that it was the best decision for ME.

are they exact same build? other than colors... If I had the money, I'd have an extra pair of wheels and a shock laying around. Other than that, Im trying to get the same wheels, handle bar, grips and pedals on bothe my p1 and legend
they are basically the same build, the only difference is the seats, and the chainrings, but they are the same teeth, so i guess thats not much of a difference.
