No digital download? To get the bluray shipped to my house is going to cost £25 in total, and will take a fortnight from the US.

I'd happily pay £15 to click a button to download a 1080p version of it instead - as it is I likely won't buy it at all, too impatient to spend money on something I won't get for 2 weeks.

Is it available from anywhere else, or is the pinkbike shop that the 3mg website takes you to the only option?

In 10 years time when you want to enjoy the nostalgia of this epic film, will you still have your digital download? I'll take a disc please!

Although I prefer not to get mine from Pinkbike, they weren't so hot on the Life Cycles shipping...

Yes because you never format your discs and most DDL movies are not DRM protected... I agree with Aaron. I like discs much more, even though my current dvd player is dead ;)

I bet it won't go on there in full HD... I hope to be proven wrong :)
does itunes do anything other than 720p? i thought that was apple's ceiling for HD video since their own hardware can't even play 1080p.

and i'll take the blu-ray ripped to my NAS with the disc safely stored...

I'm glad you like discs, I don't...I don't like the clutter they cause and the packaging/materials they require. I watch everything on my computer anyway and don't own playstations/bluray/wateverthef*ck....

I understand that. Up until recently I only owned a crappy 4:3 20year old crt tv because I watched everything on my computer but I think I like the ritual of taking a dvd/blu ray out of a nice shelf over your tv (or anywhere close) and watching the movie with your friends. Though Im biased since my house has lately become a local cinema of sorts for all my friends and I prefer the fact that non digital mediums feel more permanent ( I know they arent). I hate ebook readers too ;)

I'm waiting until I see it in stock. I've been burned to many times pre-ordering NWD vids.

Wasn't 3mg originally supposed to be released in April?

It was, but the release date was pushed back to make the product the best it could be. It was PREMIERED last night in Scotland at the Ft. William WC.

I would imagine Pinkbike would have copies in 2 weeks?

pinkbike : DVD/Blu Ray - 3 Minute Gaps (Preorder - Late July ETA)
Really? That sucks, smart on his end to ship the DVDs after the premieres are done showing. But sucks for US the people who bought the DVD months ago now... Sorry but im not spending 15 bucks cash to go to a premier movie that I already paid 40 bucks for.

I hear ya. I preordered a looooong time ago. They are showing it up at the Triple DHip, but alas, I can not make it.

What good is it if I see it at a "premiere"? It might just tell me NOT to buy it.... :D

Your face.
Not having digital distribution is poop. These days, you should be able to dl whatever you want, and be able to RE DL it whenever you want because you're on a system that keeps track of purchases, just like STEAM does for video games.

yeah, I wouldn't waste your money on this movie.....seriously lacking, a few good bits, but few and far between, unfortunately. did not live up to hype in any way. get over the talking thing already too, we've heard it all before, and with the plethora of team vids and dirttv/tri-ride/etc. you aren't telling us anything we haven't already heard, a year and a half ago. I actually think the teasers, and especially the still imagery from Sven, was better than the movie itself. Had hoped for much more.

I saw it in Fort William, I think it is a good film, but mainly because there isn't anything else out of last years world cup season. Sam Hill's part is awesome! I'm loving the fact there isn't gay dance or indie music being played (I'm seriously over that kind of stuff, bring back videos with good rock music, that get;s you pumped). After Ben Reid's section the movie sort of goes back to being like every other video Clay has done. I would still buy it, but it's a bit same old

One, if not the worst, mountain bike films of all time. A load of pretentious crap. If you want to see last seasons racing watch the Dirt TV stuff. It's way better race footage.

Sounds like classic clay porter to me. Please clay, tell us the story...AGAIN.

Let's refresh on some hype from his interview w/ Seb Kemp:

I just got back from seeing 3MG at northstar.

Are you fvcking crazy? With Thor wixom, clay's first two or three flicks (no seriously, go back and watch them), the typical NWD soundtrack poop, and the plethora of weird ass flicks that have come out of eastern europe, you honestly thing THIS is in the running for 'worst mtb film of all time?'

Please say 'yes' so I can take the time to refresh your memory with some fun youtube examples. :D

I actually kind of liked it. I pay attention to things like cinematography over dialog a little more than most people probably though. (You catch the nice moon shadow of the cross going into gwin's segment during those timelapses?) In that respect, I think this is certainly in line with little clay's continuing evolution in visual presentation. I was blown away by a good number of shots in it.

Yeah it's another world cup season but I mean really........how many ways can you couch that? 4 or 5 dudes who have little life outside competitive racing because that's what it takes to get there, discussing what happened......... Palmer ain't around so............yeah.....that's what there is. You get Gee, Minnaar, Hill and the usual suspects that have a working repore with Clay. On that note if everyone's tired of clay's narration of a WC season, maybe he should move on to something else? I'm just stoked I didn't have to listen to HIM narrate :p

At least there was an honestly to that freeride crap of yonder though. You know, so bad they're funny kinda thing. This was Clay Porter bringing a new level of hype to a collection of clips of guys riding bikes down a hill. I expected the tripod to fall over at points to show Clay masturbating himself silly as Gee was waffling on about being so close to Greg etc.

For me the music was horrendous too. I really have no idea where you look to find music that bad?

Man it was so crap. Three of us were fighting to stay awake

I honestly think the best vids to actually give you a feeling of what goes on within a top team are the Specialized corporate vids. Good footage, no ****e music and solid editing.

I can't argue with any of that actually. :p
