Attitash Mountain hosts the
Eastern States Cup and the
New Hampshire State Championships

Attitash Mountain, Bartlett, NH will host the Eastern States Cup USA Cycling Regional Championship Series and the USA Cycling NH State Downhill Mountain Bike Championships June 19th. The Eastern States Cup Series is a USA Cycling Regional Championship Series and features three USA Cycling State Championships. The NH State Champions will be crowned at Attitash after the race. The ESC event at Attitash will offer Saturday and Sunday practice for the racers and spectators.

The ESC visited Pat’s Peak, Henniker, NH for the first leg of the New Hampshire state championships last weekend. Despite a rain filled weekend a record number of downhill racers showed up at Pat’s Peak. The racers were treated to a great course and a lot of fun on the course at Pat’s. The full results and series standings are posted on the ESC’s website: www.easternstatescup.com

The race at Attitash is the third Eastern States Cup race of 2011. Attitash has over 20 miles of mountain bike trails including the more difficult and technically challenging downhill trails and 8 cross country trails more suited to all abilities and those just beginning to discover mountain biking as a recreational activity.” We are pleased to hold the Eastern States Cup event here and to showcase the downhill terrain at Attitash to a visiting field of New England riders,” said Attitash Mountain Bike Programs Coordinator Nate Waterhouse. “The event should be quite an exciting race for the riders and also something to see for locals and visitors unfamiliar with downhill mountain biking.”

Attitash is truly a destination venue. The venue offers super fast lifts to the top of the mountain and it sits right across the valley from Mt. Washington. Attitash is all about BIG mountain riding and racing, the vertical drop exceeds 1700’. There is plenty to do in the valley and at Attitash itself. The mountain has the following attractions on site; water park, mountain coaster, alpine slide, eurobungy, horseback riding and a climbing wall so come up early, stay late and bring the family for a great summer get away.
Attitash has been offering lift-serviced, downhill, mountain biking since the late 90’s. Attitash is located 3 hours from Boston and 4 hours from Albany.

Now I love Attitash... but from the video, the trail is only form the top of the Yankee, not the summit; 1700 is too high of an estimate ;)

I haven't been racing a huge amount of time, but that was one of the most fun courses I've ever been on. The woods sections were super fun, not ridiculously difficult while still being a challenge to ride smooth and fast. That helmet cam looked nothing like the actual course.

Hope you made it to the river for a post practice swim. That was the most fun I've had at a race in a long time and that's saying a lot. 30-40 Dh'ers foating and beering in waist high Saco River rapids.

Oh, good course and good trails too !! Thank You everyone for coming up and enjoying 2 days of great weather, sunshine and camping fun. The ESC has been invited back for two races in 2012, what do you guys think?

The one in the corner which says 2010 :)
oh crap, I should have caught that one. That was my fault:D

We have the same logo with "2011" in there. I guess I clicked on the wrong one. I really need to look into getting some glasses.

We can mail new ones or if we don't hear from you, I'll bring them to ESC #4 Plattekill, NY July 2-3. Either way we'll get you sorted.:thumb:

Would love to see more races there. I did make it to the crick and that was perfect after a sweaty day of DHing...should have brought some soap though. Wish there were more photos though, I can't find my un-photogenic ass anywhere.

Morin's course issue?

What became of that?
No... one of the other trails - fun roller coaster, when you came over a rock drop you came into what appeared to be a berm as you approached, and each of us railed it accordingly, into 'not a trail' -- you needed to just pump over it and continue the coaster.

It will forever be remembered as 'not a berm'

Got it. I'm known for coming in too hot and rolling over berms in nearly all occasions, so maybe that's the trail for me.

ohhhh yeah. All five of us turned into empty space, even after we tried to tell people to go over it. That was freaking hilarious...
