I would contend that the best part is it sticks to the ground like hairgel, can withstand a grenade, and matches your Ed Hardy T-shirt.

not to mention we don't have to see any more pathetic teaser photos by our favorite fist pumper Euroshrek.

Pedaled around on yurosheks, i never got to ride DH with it, but it pedaled pretty good on the street, i would assume this transfers over to the trail. Climb it like a billy-goat!

I rode one of the very first Prototypes of this bike. Will have to say it was really nice. Super slack!!! Think it weigh in around 38 or 39lbes. I would post pictures of it, but its not my place and I don't have rights to post pictures of that bike.

that thing is a pretty legit DH bike for $3k. good for the sport to have real rides at that price.

Even bigger props because it comes with 2 DHFs and not a DHR, More companies get that wrong than right, Seems like somebody put some thought into the details.

Your face.
I smell Todd S's finger prints on that one.

Kona, Norco, and now GT putting out 3k DH bikes with killer specs. THIS is what the sport needs, not more hyped up and over annodized fancy bits. :)

Few older photos for you guys to peep and get better idea of what this Alloy Fury looks like with a race spec build. I was really stoked to be apart of this project and really cant believe the price tag of the bike. Absolutely amazing, this is exactly what our sport needs, more bikes at lower price range targeting beginner and intermediate riders on a budget. This by all means does NOT make the FRAME itself "cheap" or "beginner bike" (although I do feel like a beginner a lot :D) but anyway, I wont go into detail about the Geo yet but you guys will be really surprised! My bike is SLACK, short and low.

Looks really nice in the polished version, congrats to GT for listening to what riders want and getting bikes out there with (what looks to be) good geo, good weight and low price.

Does anyone know if they will be bringing out different models at higher price points with better spec or just the carbon and the alu version?

Congratulations, SkaTodd! On 6/24 at 2:18pm, a well-spec'd, affordable downhill bike was born.

Don't forget Mongoose. Pretty sure they offer a boot'r for right around 3k.

This frame somehow looked a lot less weird in carbon. The aesthetics of it are so different from other bikes, especially the fact that the downtube and the BB don't actually meet. Not bad, just different. Have only heard good things about the performance, though.

Not that either bike are all that nice looking IMO but something about the aluminum is definitely uglier. I think it's the seat stay / seat mast, not sure the correct term but here's the plastic version:

LoL.

Hey buddy - that's copyright infringement on my err... signature.

Toddy actually called me up one day and was like: "You can change your signature now, ya know..."

It's just part of my online appearance now.

Congrats to Todd and the boys at GT - the new Fury looks beautiful! Well done on the spec, build, and colors!

I take back what I said about the bikes looks. It is definitely gorgeous in person. At least, Yuroshek's polished one is. Geo felt way different from my 5 year old sled. Sick looking bike.

I was in Ashland this weekend and GT was doing a demo promotion in conjunction with Ashland Mountain Adventures to shuttle Mt Ashland on a GT. I was lucky enough to grab a Carbon Fury and my buddy got an aluminum/aluminium one. VERY impressed with the bikes. The carbon was spec'd almost perfectly and both rode amazing. Did excellently at everything a DH bike should do well and pedaled better than the SX Trail I brought and rode the rest of the days. Very stiff, very quiet, at the washboard blowouts going into the berms to a point you didn't even care they were there, entered the same way as if it were buffed the whole way through. I was quickly comfortable and confident on the rig and would not hesitate to recommend that bike.

I own a brand new Canfield Jedi and have ridden a lot of the new DH rigs out there. I like my Jedi and woudn't trade but would not be disappointed to have a permanent place in my garage filled by either GT Fury. My buddy was similarly impressed with the Alloy version.
