Just passing this along, kind of crazy to steal something so massive and unique.

http://www.bikerumor.com/2011/06/29/fox-racing-truck-trailer-stolen/

FROM FOX: The entire FOX RACING SHOX RACE Trailer and FORD F550 Truck was stolen late Monday night 6/27, in route to the UCI World Cup event in Mount Sainte Anne, Canada. The truck cab is a white FORD F550 Turbo Diesel with beige interior, CA license plate. There are many distinguishing features with this cab such as all FORD logos have been converted to FOX logos, FOX custome embroibered seats, FOX instrument cluster and custom FOX footwheels. The trailer is a 28ft FEATHERLIGHT flip down door. The trailer contained custom proprietary racing equipment as well as two YETI bicycles, a medium ASR-5, and medium ARC hardtail. A reward is being offered for any information that leads to the return of the vehicle. The Race Rig was last seen at 6/28/11 at 4:30am traveling West on Hwy 20 just outside of Montreal.

How does this happen???

Also, if this is the case how does this effect the Fox sponsored riders?? Trek, Yeti, Athertons just name a few. I know the teams have their own mechanics but they also work with the suspension tech's as well.

...except for the fact that its a huge teal truck.

edit: nvm, was thinking of the US team truck. but still. gonna be hard to miss. was either a crime of opportunity, or extremely well planned.

car theft is real bad around montreal - when I was at school in upstate NY we would go to Montreal to party, I knew three kids that had trucks/suv's stolen in one semester. I wonder if this thing has already been chopped up for parts, got rid of everything distinguishable with fox logos etc.

will be interesting to see what happens..

Interesting to note where it was stolen from... probably a hotel parking lot. As for the "last seen" note:

"The Race Rig was last seen at 6/28/11 at 4:30am traveling West on Hwy 20 just outside of Montreal."

I imagine this was after it was stolen.

Talk about a ballsy heist!

Yup, port in Montreal makes it easy to roll em onto a ship. Hopefully the truck continued West...

MSA is notorious for thefts during the World Cup. Trailers broken into/cut open. Sven's wife had a custom extra small Turner stolen off a 3rd story balcony and it was behind other team bikes (Needles' included).

Been better the past few years though.
that's pretty crazy isht right there dude. Teams are gonna have to start putting mountain lions in their trailers when they lock up.

this may seem like a DUH question... but for something so big & valuable, why no GPS tracking equipped? If smartphone makes can do it for a sub-$1000 electronic device, why not put it in a $50,000+ team trailer?

The WHOLE f***ing rig?!!

WTF?!

Who DOES that?! How much meth do you really need anyway?!

...and where the hell are they going to "stash" something the size of a house?!

Sorry to hear this and I hope FOX can work the authorities to recover what they can.

Snowmobile season in Quebec is apparently open season as well. You hear stories all the time of guys waking up at their hotels, to have their trucks/trailers/sleds all swiped and never to be seen again. Sticky fingers up there it seems.

That really sucks. I blame MX-ers...that will only find bike stuff in the trailer.
;)

Regarding the Canada/Québec bashing, I'd like to point out that Americans are not in the best position to give lessons regarding crimes and such...

So...
A several hundred thousand dollars worth of truck/trailer w/ several hundred thousand dollars worth of tools and spares. No Lo-jack? If this is a reflection of "American ingenuity," then holy mother of GOD! those forks must be death traps!

Edit: let the HATE fly! :weee:

Canadians claim that it is Americans who go steal sh*t and sell it down in the States.
Americans have to pay for the healthcare that the Candians need when they jump the boarder because they dont want to wait 6 months for an xray some way I guess. :D
