****, Troy in sixth! That kid is gonna dominate! How long has he got left in Juniors?! Solid stuff from Miami/Hart! And was that Gwin just walking away with the championship! Nothing but problems with wheels this year for Gee, I'd be pissed!!

What rims is Gee on? I know they're branded Saint, but are they shimano made, or just something else, stickered up? If so, what? I've been told ZTR Flows, but I find it hard to believe Gee would be using something so fragile, especially somewhere like MSA.

A quarter of that top 20 are Kiwis, thats awesome.
Scolsy is having a stellar year so far.

Having all my male riders in the top 17 can't be a bad thing for my fantasy team either.

didnt someone say they are DT rims
I've heard DT, Mavic 823 and stans flows now.

Of course the correct answer is it probably varies - if I'm smart enough to run a light rim on a gentle course and an 823 down fort william, I'm betting Gee is too ;) But it'd be interesting to know which set of rims they choose at each race.

Didn't more look like tire problems this time. Could just have been an unlucky flat.

Amazing race today. So fun to see new guys making moves.

Hahahaha that sucks. Back to the f'ing drawing board with that waste of a rim. Didn't it cost him in leogang? Stan needs to lay off the steak knife stabbing demo's and look into a metallurgy class....
Maybe I missed something, but it looked like he just got a flat, when I saw him it was already off the rim... and a bit further down the line his tire balled up and stopped the wheel.

I assume it was tubeless, but I didn't see any sealant or sealant residue on the rim or tire.

I thought tubeless was actually supposed to mean you pretty much never get flats... so, how does this happen?

He definitely didn't blow up his rim bad enough to detect on the feed (hd)... it looked round and true -- however I'd think sealant would take up any such leak if there was one.

If it was tubeless, maybe he was running it w/o sealant

i didn't notice a tube or sealant mess either. maybe that was the issue...

a tubeless flat could happen a bunch of different ways. i've personally flatted tubeless by a sidewall tear (terrain caused), rolling the tire off the rim, and pinch flatting which cut the sidewall. add a damaged rim to the possibilities and who knows.

Great race, but you can't help but wonder how it would've turned out if Gee and Minnaar had clean runs... (Don't forget about Hill's absence either.)
OR, you could say, can't help but wonder how the standings would've turned out if Gwin had not crashed in Ft. William...

It's all racing; speed, skill and potential means nothing to the clock at the finish line.

Towing the party line.
MSA 2011 was new school. So rad.

Edit: I've been lucky enough now to see the changing of the guard twice. Myles, Missy, Nico and Anne to Sabrina, Rachel Greg, Steve, Sam and now Floriane, Myriam, Danny, Troy, Gwin and Brooke.

Racing is dead.

that flat spot directly under the right pedal looks big enough to cause a flat, especially if he wasn't running sealant
He rode pretty far on just the rim. I don't think you can use those pictures to place blame on the rim. It may have been 100% the rims fault, I don't know, but he did mutilate the rim after the flat too.

Running Stan's Rim strips and tubeless. Gee definitely just schralped the tire right off the rim. It's just one of the dangers of running a standard tubeless setup, and a huge risk to do it in an important race.

Should have stuck with tubes, or ghetto tubeless (because ghetto works better).

Hope the official doesn't radio down that he cut the course and didn't re-enter where he left. UCI is the suk after all....

Gwin win!
When was this? What did I miss? Just re-watched Gwin's run and not sure what you're referring to?
