I am having the worst time getting my vivid air to fit. I have followed every direction I could find for rotating the air can but it rubs in all four of the positions. Just wondering if anyone could help me with pictures or something.

Thanks!

do you have a small or medium size frame? i'm almost convinced the vivid air only fits large frames from what i have gathered now... anyone have a small/medium that run the air?

I have one on my medium.

not really sure how to Properly customize it though. I was told how to do it but when i saw the sram boys they told me that i had done it all wrong. they fixed it and now everything is fine but when i asked him what he did he wouldnt tell me. He said they really dont want people trying it themselves. they did tell me that around late august SRAM will sell a demo specific vivid air.

The rock shox shock extension also doesn't fit the vivid air eylet when in the slack position without some filing. But for the msrp of a vivid air why not get a double barrel?

A friend of mine has one Vivid Air in his small frame, so it fits. He had the Sram guys spinning the can properly at Whistler. It seems that you need a special tool to open the air can and spin the end of it.

Once you install it, make sure the shifting cable and brake hose are not between the frame and the air can, otherwise they will damage the air can...

If you pull out your RC4, you see the side of the back end that goes into the link is thinner than the vivid air. The different is only 0.02 something if I'm not mistaken. you need to file out the one on vivid air so it will fit in the link. Do it very little by little, a bit tricky but doable. Then once you done that, you need to turn the air can towards the drive side I'll post some picture for you later. or if you have an email I can send the pictures to you. Once you line up the schreder valve you're good to go. Just remember to tightened up the bolts again so the air can won't spin. you have to take out the reb knob too, it won't fit in there. you can still adjust it later using 4mm allen key. I hope that make sense. drop me an email andre@orangewaterland.com. cheers
