So it's been a pretty good weekend. Checked in early on Friday and got geared up:



Then, we went to teh Garbo. MMike was full of joy:

Then we rode some trails:


And we did some jumps:

Then MMike fell off his bike and we had to go home.

I am very sore.

Hands hurt. Shoulder hurts (after an incident on Goats Gully).

Yes I suck.

As i said yesterday, it's almost as frustrating as it was fun. not being able to do what I used to be able to do quite easily is not cool.

But it was pretty awesome, despite my suckage.

In a Van(couver) down by the river
I managed an involuntary 3/4 front flip off that very step up last week (quite a bit too "lofty," you might say), followed by a free ride to the Whistler clinic where I struggled mightily to say more than 3 numbers in reverse order...

And while appreciate the pity, I'm fine. I just go a little tangled up and went over the bars. Right shoulder was kinda sore. But a couple of days later it's basically fine now.

Flight home is this afternoon.

Da Peach and I think we are pretty funny. Da Peach actually recognized Total Heckler in the lift line. They were two, we were two....so we sidled up to them....but didn't identify ourselves.

The chair lift small talk went along the lines of

Da Peach: So how's it goin'?

Total Heckler: EEEEEEE!!!! This is so exciting I just peed a little! ....(I'm paraphrasing)

Da peach: Oh yeah? First time up here?

Total Heckler: OMIGOD OMIGOD OMIGOD!!!!

MMike: So where are you in from?

Total Heckler: Santa Cruz. You guys from around here?

MMike: No I'm visiting my brother here. I'm from montreal. He lives here in Van.

Total Heckler: Cool. So this is my first time riding in a long time. Injured shoulder.

Da Peach: Oh? You get hit by a car or something?

Total Heckler: Actually....uh...yes.....

** i forget how the conversation came around to the trip from YVR airport to Whistler....a long drive...or something....so i suggested that going by helicopter would be better ***

Then finally Total Heckler made mention of a photographer friend.

Total Heckler: Yeah...meeting friend who takes photos from ridemonkey.com. Do you know the site?

MMike/Da Peach: Yeah...we've heard of it.

Total Heckler: Oh yeah? Where you do hang out

Da Peach: Mostly the lounge I guess.

(By this time we've just passed the Schleyer drop)

Total Heckler: Really? Who do you post as?

As this point we introduced ourselves.

We thought it was funny.......

I guess posting the stalker pics would have been funnier later in the thread...

Would have been rude not to introduce ourselves.

might make it up next weekend if my folks don't make their flight.

I will have a less creaky bike by then. Hopefully.

My approach would have been different. You should have gone for getting him wound up on the spot.

I'd have pretended to be a stalker who never posts and drag on and on about some guy who posts all the free stuff he gets from his sponsor and acts like they're really reviews. Then just slam on the guy as a big ole e-rider who never leaves the house. Then go on to say:
"I think he really thinks people like him"
"Are you talking about that hucker guy?"
"Man I hate that guy."
"What was his nickname?"
"Total Hellion?"
"Nah, but sounds like that...?"

If you can't harrass a RM member in real life and get them steaming out their helmet in line, you're not living up to your e-thug rep. :thumb:

First one to get him to swing wins. :rofl:

Sounds like an awesome trip! Anybody going to be there the weekend of Sept 9-12 (um, long weekend of four days)? Hubby and I are headed up for our very first anniversary. Stoked to get back up to the gnar, it's been a quiet summer for us, only been up once so far. Super lame when we only live 4 hours away! But alas, we will just be that much more excited for the upcoming vaca!

I wouldn't try and fight anyone. But you pretty much nailed it. Haha

And for those of you who enjoy seeing me in pain, I crashed today :shocked:. I got a little too rad off of a drop and now have a bruise covering my whole right butt cheek and my lower back is swollen. Walking is not fun right now.

That's what friends are for right? I would have been bummed if it weren't documented. I expect that from my friends. I will be ok eventually, just get the shots, then check on me.

Heh I know man. The internet is usually a very serious place haha

Peach, we've done most of those together actually. Hoping my back/right cheek will be good to ride tomorrow. It has got some sweet knots and killer colors developing. I would post a photo, but posting a photo of my ass on here sounds like a terrible idea.
