Going those speeds on that trail was beyond dangerous. There were so many sniper rocks, stumps, and downed trees you couldn't see through the brush. But it's always fast with Geritt and Wyatt up front. I wanted to stay close for the vid but was just to uncomfortable at those speeds and not having a clear view of the trail. But it was fast and in perfect conditions.

Mastery? You mean the jack-knife and tree hugging?

You clear it? If so I want to come and follow you in.
Not that weekend, I was getting about half way. This weekend I was getting about 3/4 of the way in practice, didn't get to hit it at all in the race since I lawn-darted myself into the ground after the 3rd corner and done quite a bit of damage to my bike.

It's is a huge tabletop with a short run-in. The 250 doesn't quite have the grunt to make up for my slow corner speed.
Here's one of my buddies hitting and actually clearing it, he's a very fast B-rider.

and this is the double a destroyed myself on.

I landed somewhere near the cones, off the track luckily since there was about a pack of 12 people behind me since I got the holeshot (for some reason none of the jap bikes can touch my beat-up woods bike.. go figure).

Well, that streak is over. 38 years alive and never seen a Timber Rattler. I don't want to again. Had no idea how freaking huge they are. Came out of the steep section on Greens Lick, hit the big left hander and as the trail straightened out, I about poo'ed myself. :0

Stinks that I didn't get a good pic. Tried to run it off (it was 2-3 feet off trail) but it was cocky. That tail makes some noise! Most impressive critter I've seen in the forest.

If you really get bit? 33% chance no venom is injected and you just die from the shock of being bitten by a rattlesnake. 33% chance no venom injected and you piss yourself and run off a cliff....and die. 33% chance venom is injected and you die...horribly. 1% chance.. no problems!

A little clip from a project in Western NC. These trails are private.

Its somewhere in between dirt jumps, a pump track, and a skate park built in a mountain setting. Still working on our website but you can like us on facebook if you want to see what we're up to.

Go to vimeo for HD...looks nice!

Green River Narrows Race.

DHers could learn a thing or two from this event. Racing for bragging rights only and everyone races the same class. ~1000 spectators despite an hour-long hike in. Nobody complains and racers don't get judged on how cool their outfits are. Awesome time every year!

Kinda of figured that... from your pic I knew what general area you were shooting from. I was standing pretty close to you for a while. Then later I saw you talking to Matt, Nick and Garth. Figured you were a MTB guy. Nice pics BTW.

This is week 12 of recovery. Let's just say by the time I got down I was not comfortable and we ended up not staying very long (left about 2:00) cause it felt like I was again at day two of being out of my neck brace. Wanted to shoot more, but it's hard when I am not comfortable.
