Anyone willing to let me poach their spot? I mean no harm! Just want to cruise trails again. I'm sick of riding these streets man. Also, the trails uptown suck.

hmmmmm. define 'near'. have you checkout out cunningham?
this. Also you don't need to leave NYC for some good concrete skateparks as well. Owl's Head in Brooklyn, the new one in Flushing, Queens, a legit concrete bowl in Yonkers, and the BX has some parks as well.H

But I do agree, those Highbridge trails uptown are beat.

Owl's head bowl is bananas--I love that thing.
Where in Flushing? Do you mean Maloof in Flushing Meadows?
Where is this bowl in Yonkers?

Also, near as in can I take a train to get there and ride from the station with ease. I don't care about which train (LIRR, Metro North--whateva).

Yup, as I thought.... Our trails are not 'near' to NYC. The named the damn thing long island for a reason. we are about 30 minutes by car past Ronkonkoma station, near the end of the LIE.

If you'r ever up for the trip, and can carry a healthy set of respect and 'I fix my own hacks' with you, we are traditionally receptive to visitors.

Additionally, I've heard that Cunningham is fun, albeit small (note: I haven't actually been there) and a local to this forum has put in some work there and he certainly knows whats up with regard to digging.

Ouch man! Myself and one other guy work our asses off keeping that **** dialed for the whole goddamn city to fyck up for us.
Come by one of these Saturdays and lend us a hand, maybe you won't have to drive all the way to PA to ride trails!

Matter of fact, I'm headed there right now, after all this rain........

mmmmmm, but the trails of PA are sooooo good. I grew up in Bethlehem, then lived in Pittsburgh, and now am out on Long Island. I have been lucky :).

I've been to the uptown trails too. True, you won't be finding a boosty 30-pack there any time soon (or even doubles? - wasn't last time I went), but you know what....... Free/legal/public access dirt in Manhattan (the city where nothing is free and some of the most litigious people on earth reside and land is one of the most expensive resources around), thats impressive. They could be the crappiest jumps/trails ever, and this would still be impressive.

that being said, yes, not my flavor of riding either:thumb:

Don't take it personally, last I went up there was 2 years ago and it was December--hardly trails season.

that's why we drink it here
Cunningham is a nice little stop. Close to the city. There is a good set of tables in the front half of the park. Cross the bridge and there is a nice twisty run with a couple hips.

If you're driving, the spot Mutt's talking about is SERIOUS fun. Great spot, great people. Bring some beers or smokes and you'll be received a little warmer.
