tons of new stuff! Wheels(157??,) carbon/aluminum hubs, pedals, new cranks, new chainguide (are those using two pulleys like the MRP?)

we're finally getting the pedals. a bit heavy though, no?
maybe trek won't be the only one with a 157 rear end soon? and the session 9.9 comes with adapters for 150mm wheels, right?

pedals are heavy and look pretty thick considering the 11-13mm pedals out currently and on the way - spank, point1, specialized - and the super thin models at some point - tioga, forget the other makers.

There will be quite a few companies with 157 rear wheel spacing. Don't freak though, most will supply adapters to make 150 hubs compatible. There are also already a number of 157 hubs on the market.

And before everyone starts getting upset about a 'new' standard, understand that the extra 7mm is the exact same idea that's utilized in the 12x142 standard. Basically, it allows for 3.5mm slots to be machined in on each side of the dropout so that locating the axle is much easier when installing the wheel and the interface between the hub and the frame is more secure.

that's why we drink it here
In a world where pedals could be made entirely of plastic...
One company dared to go full retard.

Alternate beginning...
In a world where disc brakes rule...
one company decided a glued hub would be hip?

it looks like still no radius on the crank arms...fail
HA! I knew you were gonna say something when I saw the picture of the new cranks. 2 weeks on mine and that hasn't bothered me once. I think you're just a freak.
The new E.13 stuff looks awesome, as usual.

Id go with mine. Lighter on standard parts and 1/3 of the price. Just get an old 823 ;) over 1k for 2000+g wheels silly. New eastons are more interesting - 1850g

I like the new crank.

ps. norco also went with 157

Be interested to see how those wheels hold up. If they're strong, then sweet - no silly straight pull spokes or anything. Bonded carbon hubs for disc brakes does seem a bit weird, but I reckon you could make that work alright. The pedals look cool but the advertising spiel of "well the plates are polycarbonate which will just slide right off stuff without hanging up" is pretty funny given that there are a dozen or so big metal spikes sticking out of each side of each pedal... spin control is good though, that was one of the best things about the Point1 pedals - when you take your foot off round a corner, they're never out of place when you want to slap it back on.

LOL Steve M you are right mate about the pedals, i had never thought of that (bit stupid of me)

Not much pedal surface to slip off then where ar screws in the way. Unless u have to snap them every run to get a good slide ;-)

Not that I run a dual ring on any of my bikes anymore, but I still like the dual ring taco guide. Seems like there's also some intriguing potential to replace that fin with a little bracket to allow use of a DM front derailleur on some bikes that wouldn't otherwise be set up to take one.

More expensive than i9 for half the engagement and only 70 grams of weight savings? What am i missing here?
Scandium rims are crazy/light/strong.

Hubs will be available by themselves as well for you 823 diehards and ano'd rim people (myself included).

Pedals aren't the lightest/thinnest out there, but they are designed for ease of use/maintenence. Pins are going to break off, but as Chris mentioned they are super simple to fix. Thread backward into the body...dead easy.

Pretty excited about the 3 levels of DH cranks though...and we should have all the BB adapter sets to run PF30, BB30, and BB89/92 after I-bike as well.

What's changed on the LG1R compared to the current LG1+?

Another question (perhaps for PhillipW) -
Just bought a new e13 (hive) 36t chainring and was super disappointed to see it had gotten thicker, and the chamfers had been removed from around the chainring holes (used to be rounded, now square = more material). Gained about 14g. I never had strength issues with the old rings in these areas, so I'm curious - why the gain?

I realise 14g is nothing, but that's a ~30% weight increase in a premium priced part. I'm a big e13 fan but I could have bought a cheaper chainring with the weight advantage gone.

That makes me a happy panda. ZTR front and E13 rear would make it possible to build very light wheels.
What was the rim weight again?
Rim Info, because you asked nicely :D
LG1+ 559g, OD 29.4mm ID 23mm

TRS+ 372g (26), 410g (29), OD 26.5mm ID 21mm

LG1R crankset uses a bit more machining, and with the new 7050 spindle weight comes down to 661g (760 w Euro BB).

We switched up to a 4mm ring size to give a bit more lateral stiffness, especially with all the guys running 1x setups. Should help keep the Guiderings nice and straight.

is the TRS+ rim an actual UST spec (bead) rim? or 'tubeless ready' like a stan's rim? the slideshow's audio and text say two different things.

not a huge deal, but the audio says the 26" is 380g and the 29" is 420g. either way that is light for a trail rim that will not be treated well during its intended use.

I managed to bend an old one on my dh bike, sounds like good news to me.

Thanks for the info. Hmm Im a bit less tempted since I still own 2 old 823s which are 590g so with their special nipples Id probably loose 50g but still a great product.
Those TRS rims too. If I didnt have to pay for a collarbone op they would probably end up in my trailbike project.
