I saw it last night at the Portland premiere. It wasn't just boring, it was actively aggravating to watch the endless zoomy jerky interviews, the repetitive night sky time lapses, and the multitude of shots of a rider standing with hunched shoulders and hands in pockets trying to look serious.

This is sad because I'd like to see Clay make good films.

"Bro stoke" interviews have in my opinion destroyed the action sports movie industry.

That being said I'm still excited to see this movie.

Does it have more riding than this season's Atherton Project?

That part did in fact make me so annoyed I punched the girl sitting next to me. I had to apologize to her dad later. I'd never flat out wailed on a 4 year old before but it really was that annoying.

Such files do not exist, please prove me wrong :weee:
I think norbar may have topped anything I was thinking of :p

The trailer for this got me pretty excited though.

Maybe bike flicks need to come to the same place some ski flicks have. Pro athletes are typically pretty boring. Only 'interview' those that aren't?

the movie was actually pretty. the zooming in and out on the interviews got a bit annoying, but no big deal... it did come close to being another sam hill movie though.

Reid and Blinky's sections were great. i love smashing berms

Am I the only one who though editing was a bit strange? Sometimes the movie jumped to some other place with the old music playing or the other way around (cant rewatch - seen at mates place). Somehow the editing and music made me feel out of the movie. The shots are great but I liked previous Clay movies better.

Agree on Reid and Blinky session.

Yeah IMO it was a joke. Very amateur production all-round. Looking forward to the master Rankin's season DVD.

I gotta send my blu ray dvd back after all this time. It skips, pauses and audio/picture is off track. Pretty bummed and I love how I wrote Clay a msg on FB but he didnt have the balls to write back, pretty lame! I guess he is way to cool to talk to his customers.

Got the Blu ray version and to be honest seems like a bit of a waste, having seen how good life cycles looked on Blu ray and comparing it to 3MG I think its only DVD quality.
The movie itself has some good points but overall I was a bit disappointed. Gotta agree with the sentiments above Rankins films are a class above.

Ya, a little bit of cool riding. But I'm not sure how this took 2 years to film. Pretty lame overall compared to what else is out there.

I totally agree with you on that as well. It really bothers me when the rider has a blurry/heat wave look around them until they gets closer to the camera then it focuses and disappears... If that makes sense, and it also does that in his older films too, which are not blu ray.

Life Cycles was shot with a top of the line, feature film, Red camera. 3MG was shot with a "basic" prosumer camera.

all i really care about from that film is Gwins segment. i haven't seen it (no digital distro; no buy)--so is that giant step down as good as the promos made it seem?
