2 World Champions, not a bad day out for the Brits! Sounds like I missed the race of the year!!

Kept taking sneaky peaks at the live timing on my phone and was uber confused when I seen Hill (in fourth I think at the time) as I thought he was coming down last! Can't wait to see the re-runs of Danny's run, what an awesome world champ!

Result of the day (IMO of course) has to go to Barel, how many of us could ride down that track and he gets a result like that with 4 cracked ribs, and bloody serious cracks by the sounds of the interview with him I seen!

Yes Barel definetly did incredibly well considering his ribs, but Hart still out shone everyone with a pretty much perfect run, cutting straight lines were most of the big dog was getting sketchy.

People have been saying that whoever wins has the best handling skills, well i think hart proved that to be true.

Just saw the replay of Hart and Gwin runs several times.

The diference between Hart and Gwin just before the the Gwin's crash was of 3 sec to Hart.

I think Hart will take it anyway.....but shame for Gwin crash.

Insane Hart run.

Hill's 07 run looked like a run down the shops compared to Hart's this year.

The kid is unbelievable.

He seems to be doing just fine under Alan Millway.
Please tell me about that Alan person. Ive never heard he had someone training him, though he run on the same pure talent he did since he was 13

Clearly, you must've been watching a different race because this "fat" guy just pulled a 6th place ahead of Gee, Greg, Gwin, etc. on the hardest track on the WC circuit and in the worst conditions--short of a hurricane--possible.
He's not fat now, thank god. And it shows in the result.

What's the matter, does everyone have to be a Sam Hill fanboi or be a hater ?

He was out of shape after the last off season. He's not now. Good.

Haha :) Still props to Fairclough for putting in a great run despit not having one knee. I woke up late and saw the live feed of the remaining 7ish riders. But man Danny's run was INSANE to say the least... Drifting all the way, perfect form, and that mega whip is just crazy! He just feels so confident, wet or dry, it doesn't even matter.

These veteran racers have another thing coming come 2012, the new kids are just tearing it up. Amazing 2011 world champs. Love it. :thumb:

I also would like to know the answer to these questions.
Past 2 WC's the defending champ went last, and everyone else went in respective UCI ranking order (this is based on UCI pts and is different from the world cup overall slightly). This year it looks like they assigned #'s based on defending champ first and then everyone else following in their respective UCI order (Hill 1, Gwinn 2, Minnaar 3) but ran the actual race based on UCI rank. Sam is ranked 18th so that's where he came down, but he had #1 plate for being defending champ.

Does that help?

(also, some guys had different #'s from actual UCI rank if a higher ranked rider wasn't in attendance so as to keep everything in order. So basically start with the defending champ, put everyone else in order based on ranking, assign them numbers, then have them come down the hill according to the original ranking).

Also, FWIW, I think Danny was on clips.....!

Best race I've ever watched. Well worth the €15. Biggest ever winning margin at a men's elite world champs, or did Nico used to smash it by that much?

Cheap fsckers. Thanks for being part of the problem. :thumb:

You can buy a few grand in gear but can't cough up a few bucks for the biggest race of the season?

Do you ask your LBS why your parts aren't free as well?

I did it last year and I'd do it again this year if I hadn't woken up this morning.

Big fvcking deal, it's 20 bucks. Most people on this site spend 10 times that on piece of shlt cranks just because they saw a pretty picture of someone fast on them. At least you know what you're getting with a freecaster purchase.

You've probably had bar bills more than that numerous times.

Also: Nice commentary buckoW! I didn't miss that :D
Are you canadian? That's aboot the only place I could put that accent ;)

The other announcer not Warner who has been on Harts balls all season is killing me...
That's the same commentator that people were getting on for being to clinical all season. I was laughing as he was going nuts (and going nuts myself).

Yeah, that was pretty nuts.

Without seeing the other runs, just how nuts is hard to put into perspective.

But I bet I was pret-Ty nuts.

Are you kidding me? Nigel Page works well with Warner, give you some good facts and stats, then goes off at the right moments.

I am a big fan of Nigel Page, his commentary is great and not fully tiled towards his riders.

Nigel Page and Martin Whitely sound nothing alike, but you seem to have them confused. Personally, I like them both but I wish Page would get a better signature line than "If anyone can do it ________ can." Getting a bit used up, no?
