L.A. Noir is supposed to be good.
I thought it was neat, but it's no "shoot em up" kind of game. Kind of like a choose your own adventure book.

Oh, and GFF should get Sing Star.

Total eclipse of the heart battles online vs. SteveW.

is was okay. it became very repetitive though. the interactions b/w the characters is great but the game lacked a lot of different "missions." and once you figured out how to really play the game, it became way too easy.

homefront - ok
resistance 3 (based on mp demo) - looks like it will be ok, but predictable.
battlefield 3 (based on previews/reviews) - looks like it will be awesome. Out soon.

I LOVED the Mass Effect games on teh 360, but if your looking for a "turn on game, kill stuff" sort of game, the Mass Effect series is probably not for you. The story arc is pretty involved.

I agree, not a master blaster sort of game, but WOW was the storyline involved and I really enjoyed it. The games I've purchased recently have been MASSIVELY disappointing on a single player recently. Portal 2, COD Blops, Homefront, were all pathetic. Portal 2 had a good storyline, but virtually no replayability. CoD had the same multiplayer emphasis rather than single player. I have MW2 and the multiplayer modes aren't different enough for me to want to buy blops.

Half life 2 is pretty fun, and you get CS:Source which is very fun multiplayer.

Been out for awhile now, but Dead Space 2 was top notch. One that is also kinda old and didn't get too much press is Vanquish. Gorgeous rendering, solid battle mechanics, and ridiculously bad dialogue.

Deus Ex is supposed to be pretty hot.

Or, if you're like me, you're waiting on Batman.

I did like DS 1, but I should also mention I'm not a fan of RPGs (even the hybrids really). Many gamers think very highly of Half Life and Mass Effect, but I honestly don't want to have a "conversation" or make "moral decisions" throughout the game. Yes, I'm a simpleton.

Word nerd. I don't really like RPGs either. I'm having a hard time enjoying fallout 3 because of the rpg elements and boring conversation. Half life was fun because it mixes fps and storyline but you don't need to male moral decisions or upgrade weapons, but it's more involving than cod where you just blast **** until it's over with no character development.

Resistance 3 comes out today, most likely gonna pick it up on the way home from work if I get a chance. I spend many many hours playing the 2nd one (both story mode and online multiplayer) so I'm hoping it will be just as good.

RS Vegas 2 is okay for how old the game is now.
Brink will drive you nuts until you figure out the tricks of the game like upgrading your player's skills and weapons.

I know it's a ways off, but "Gears of War 3" comes out on September 20. I'm sure it will be well executed and beautifully rendered, if a somewhat formulaic FPS.

Although if you can play old PS2 games on the your PS3, it's hard to beat "Black" for sheer brainless kill factor. Pretty challenging at the higher levels of difficulty.

Dunno if like sandbox games, but I thought "Saboteur" was perhaps my fave of all time. If you like period piece games and killing (lots) of nazis, this may be up your alley.

Since when is upgrading a "trick"?

Wow, my dude sucks.
Did you upgrade his skills and weapons?
You can do that in a video game?

you didnt get bored with the constant repetition by both games?
Both games?

I played it until something like 97% completion and didn't get bored until the very end when I was looking for beavers and couldn't find any. If there had been any other bigger tasks or story left, I'd have been happy to keep playing.

theres been two Red Dead games
Oh, I see. I thought you were referring to two Red Dead Redemption games (or maybe the zombie expansion) because I said Red Dead Redemption instead of just Red Dead.

I never played Red Dead Revolver.

FWIW, I actually quit Red Dead Redemption about 1/2 way through out of sheer boredom. And this is coming from someone who thoroughly enjoyed other sandbox games like "Red Faction Guerilla" and "Saboteur".
