Morning monkeys!

Had a good "high impact" workout last night. Got to show a couple of 1st degrees how badly they are at blocking. Hit them roughly 80% of the time, and I was striking slowly. :D

Watched the rest of the Pats game when I got back to the hotel. Great game.

Doing nothing again today.

Be safe out there.

Good Morning! A day off for me. I plan on walking the dogs and hitting the gym.
As for last nights game being a lifelong Dolphins fan I found it very, very frustrating. I see were the team has improved but its obvious that we are still a long way off.

Just found out I have to go down to Shelton, CT tomorrow morning to inspect some frames being made for us.

I should just keep driving and go to Diablow instead.

Morning Monkeys!

Took my son to to the bar last night to shoot some pool. It's funny because nobody believes he's my son. He's my baby boy, but he's a grown ass man. He sucks at pool and I ended up doing pretty well. A good time was had by all.

Morning all. It has been a while since I posted in a GMT. Been slammed at work since I got back from Whistler. My back is finally starting to be better and I got the clear to do some mellow riding as long as I am not getting any pain. I am going to maybe try and get a lunch ride sometime in this week or next if I can.

I also just got back from a 3 day trip to Viberg South Dakota. My wife and I went out there to help fix up a guest house on her grandmother's old farm (who passed away). Spent 3 days straight doing serious manual labor. Everything from putting in floor support beams to cleaning out dead animals. Quite the 'vacation'...

My computer and office just got back from Denver. Felt like a cheap whore sitting at the gate with nothing to do in another truck.

Yesterday afternoon was a laugh-a-minute. Went to the bank to sign some stuff for our re-fi and the clutch cable on the beemer went "pop". Managed to nurse the bike home clutchless with surprisingly little drama. Then we canned pickles, one of which exploded when I was dunking it in the boiling water, only slightly burning me. #firstworldproblems

GM! Had an awesome Whistler trip. Rode until my bones hurt so bad I couldn't brake anymore, it ruled.

Got back and turns out my dog ran away from my uncle's house, who was watching her. This is not surprising because she is a little escape artist, but she always goes right back. She's now been gonefor a full night, which she has never done. I'm scared for my girl... Love that mutt. Send positive thoughts to her... Thanks.

Good morning.
Working in Davis CA. You know what is fun to do when in Davis? Pack, and get the fvck out of Davis.
Get one of those city bike single speeds that Dante sells. Perfect bike for Davis and makes for an awesome townie in Golden.

I'm running errands to get the house resupplied after being gone for 2 weeks. Then hoping to get in an XC ride afterwards.

Question:

Morning commute to work today sucked big time. As I got closer to the office, I'm on a 2 lane road (1 lane in each direction) that is fairly windy and narrow, and super popular among roadies. I'm stuck behind 4-5 cars doing about 10mph, with seemingly nothing ahead of them (on a 35mph road)....WTF? I then realize there's 3 roadies (college age girls) riding SIDE BY SIDE, making it nearly impossible for the cars in their/my lane to safely pass, given all the blind corners. The cars in front of me are beeping like crazy, and when I finally get to a straight away to pass them I yelled "SINGLE FILE!" out my window as I passed. Sure enough about 1/4 mile down the road I'm stuck at a queue of cars at a yield sign and they pass by me, single file. I was expected one of them to be sassy and kick my quarter panel, but they never did (and if one had, I'd likely ask them out for a drink.)

So tell me roadie monkey's......was my yell justified/correct? I'll admit I was frustrated at the time already, but riding 3 wide on a narrow road just seems like you're asking for trouble.

If you have a rack or some other way of identifying yourself as a cyclist, I would not take any offense. If you looked like an angry redneck, then I'd be pissed. But given that you acknowledged single file vs. get off the road, I think you're in the green.

2 Thule sidearms on the roof. Funny you say that, because as it happened I actually told myself "they'll see the bike racks.....they'll know I'm on their side".

Afternoon. Been so busy with back to school that I haven't gotten a chance to post. My computer is finally back up and running in my classroom so I should have a little time on the :monkey: Still no TV service at home so we've been enjoying games and the Wii. Strangely, I don't really miss it.

I will often take the whole lane when it is unsafe for a car to pass, controlling my own safety. This is of course always followed by pulling to the right and waving cars by when it is safe. This should never be done riding single file. These sound like clueless ****s who give the rest of us a bad rap.

:stupid:

There is a particular corner on my ride home where I take the whole lane just so some douche doesn't try to squeeze between me and the island that exists on the outside of the turn, else wise I'm as far right as practical. 3 abreast is just asshats on bikes, no matter what road conditions are.

I only quote this because I too am in Davis, CA, only I'm burdened down by a fiancee in vet school.

How many dogs, cats, and other small animals live in your home. The highest count I saw from my UCD Vet friends was 12 animals in a 2br apt.
