Bike was Found!!! Got a call from a mechanic at Baltimore Bike Works last night that someone brought in a Morewood for service and knew nothing about the bike and bought it for 150 dollars. Suspecting the bike was stolen he found my thread on PB and contacted me. I'm picking the bike up after work today!!

Did he say anything about the condition of the bike? I remember it being pretty up to snuff so what needed to be done?

If the guy bought it for 150 he was probably trying to have a kickstand installed.

That is amazing that youre getting it back, though. Congrats. I wonder how much crack its selling and re-selling was able to buy.

We didn't talk in too much detail about condition. I think the guy probably brought it in for the rear wheel to get fixed (which I smashed on the last ride I had on it).

Bike is almost exactly the same condition as when it was stolen. Tires don't even look like they saw any riding. The guy at the shop said it was brought in to get new grips, guess those ratty sunline grips worn down to the plastic helped get the bike back! Not sure what I'm going to do with 2 DH bikes now...

And yes, I tipped the shop.

Glad you got the bike back :thumb:

Ride both, review the pros and cons of each, write it up on the forum and then keep the one you like!

Sounds like a real problem.

You could always give one to somebody who needs a bike... like Demo9.

I really do like the ride of Carbon so I will probably keep the Fury and put all the best parts on it. The CCDB has 1 day of riding on it so I might throw it on the Fury and see how it rides... And to add to my choices I have a Vivid Air showing up tomorrow for the Fury. Decisions...

OT question...

assuming you used insurance money from the theft of the morewood to purchase the fury; what happens when you recover the morewood? do you have to return the insurance payout?

When it happened to me I had to give the recovered bike back. Oh ya, and I totally didn't take the primo DT wheelset and other high parts on it and replace it with bargain/semi-broken garbage. Definitely didn't do that.

Ive got 2 downhill bikes and I dont have any problems. More reason that the freeride house is even more of a freeride house. Just saying.
