Do they offer a down-tube guard to cover the exposed shock? I know that the chainring/guard will protect it from impacts with embedded objects, but what about stuff that gets kicked up?

I think I see one in this pic...
Hard to tell.

And I take back my comment about the chainring protecting things. Looks like it is small enough and back far enough that it would not offer any protection.

Yes they include a carbon guard with the frames.

I think once the bike is settle into sag the chainring will be lower then the downtube protrusion.

if not there is nothing stopping someone from running a 36t bashguard to fill in some of that space, as the chainring is only a 32

I'm still bummed I missed on a chance to test ride one in Morzine. Maybe next year.

btw. It would be awesome if Zerode used a legend like forged downtube with a place for a shock. Though I know it would raise the cost a bit.

Come to NZ - they have a demo bike in Queentown with gondola access!!!

As for the front frame, I wouldn't be surprised to see something in carbon in the not too distant future. Both Zerode guys have experience building their own carbon bikes. The proto Zerode trail bike is carbon and looks like the finished article.

Awesome news for Rob and Dodzy. Good on you Ian for taking this on - best of luck to you and the brand.

Just had a ride on Jason's bike 10 days ago in Morzine.

Really amazing bump swallowing ability !!! & soooooo silent !

Still waiting for those new nuts (to fix the Alfine), the actual ones are so aggressive on knees.

Friend of me is riding the Zerode for more than a year now. He is really happy with it, great bike. I was riding it and it felt just great! The only problem i had was that I hit the nut and the screw of the gearbox with my calves during riding but that depends on riding-style. He is running it with an Evolver Air and you definitly need the carbon protection...

Thats what the new ti hardware is for, slimmer profile lose 6mm, should stop you from hitting your calves. That being said, I do agree that you can change your riding stance so you are less likely to hit, just takes some time.

A little more bow legged stance also give some more room for the bike to move around.
