Listen fanboys and newschoolers. You ought to listen to a bit of a history lesson with one of the greats, Dave 'Cully' Cullinan. Think Sam Blenkinsop is all the jazz riding no gloves and flats? Copycat! Cully was doing the *hit no pads and no gloves with canti brakes to boot!

Cully was one of the smoothest chap on the bike with NIco back in the days.

My all-time favorite. When you consider that he overcame heart valve replacement (twice, at least, that I know of) to return to top level of the sport, it makes his accomplishments all the more noteworthy.

Cool interview. Takes a little while to get going, but definitely a good one. Thanks!

Clipped in Nac-Nac. He always landed those clipped back in too.

There is an interview in MountainBiking Magazine wherein Duff McKagan teaches Cully to play the bass and vice-versa. Pure mid-nineties gold.

Pornstar?
That's Cedric, get it right.

The Cully quote that defined and still defines my riding:

"Let's go fast and see whole can control their bike at speed."

That scene from Transcontinental, hell that whole movie, made me want to switch from XC to DH. Can somebody PLEASE find that video on DVD? I have a tape copy if someone can pull it to DVD format.

Smooth has hell, but a bit of a douche if you weren't in his clique....I loved watching him in the dual slalom and "duel" races though. I still remember his little tantrum when he missed his start time at the Big Bear DH WC back in the day. That was classic LOL. But hey, the dude was a game changer in DH for sure. All the BMX guys who used to spank him saw the success, attention and money he was getting in MTB and caused a lot of them to cross over (some with better success than others).
