I saw the other post with all the trucks but I have a old boat trailer that I want to turn into a bike hauler and shuttle maybe some seats and a tool box full of stuff. I need some ideas or some pic's to start from. The trailer is 16 foot so I got pletty of room to work with. I have a welder and all that stuff I just need a starting place.

Shoot me some idea's!!!!

Sorry if I offend the guy who started the other shuttle rig post.

This is actually the way they have it set up now. Bikes are separated, never touch, and don't bounce around. Hold's a total of 18 bikes.

I started a thread with this same question. The one I want to do allows you to take a stock utiliy trailer and drop 6x6 beams in the front and a set in the middle and the back so that you walk 6 in, drop in the 6x6 cross beam in the middle for 6 more bikes, then drop in the back 6x6 posts and beam for the last 6. I can't find the pic though.

Spotted this too. A guy on PB made this wheel holder style bike tray that the bike is locked into.

Then from what I gather he's also made a trailer with the same wheel holders:

Dude is pretty handy with steel apparently. He's even got a North Shore style rack, with the back mounted going back.

Heeeeeey....always wierd to get on a forum and find pics of your own bikes or trucks!

I built those racks pictured above, and rather than slam patents and lawsuits against every possible angle of a copy, I'll tell ya how to build em yourself if I can't build em for you cheap enough!

I'm currently "out of production(ha!)" as I had to sell ALL of my equipment to make the move to the PNW, but I should be up and running as soon as I can get a house(and garage!) bought!

As for Dirtyjungles question, it depends on how/where the rear wheel will mount and if it will be supported by the frame behind the crown or by the crown itself(carefull...North Shore Racks will sue ya I'm told! eyeroll....), as that changes the balance point on the bike. For a rack like my fully supporting folding 4-bike rack, I just put the top bar where I wanted the bikes to sit, then let the bike hang free. Then I moved the lower bar up until it pushed the bikes out, meaning there was always pressure/gravity holding the rear wheel to the lower bar. Then the rack has to do very little work.

And for these racks...whatever you think will "cut it" in material thickness, go heavier or go smarter. Square tube is stronger than round as it has vertical "legs" and won't flex as much while bombing fireroads and mall parking lots.

I have 3 new styles I'm anxious to try... one's an 8-bike flip/swing up rack with some neato little hydraulic units to assist, and another is a reversed version of my folding one that mounts the bikes by the bars/stem and seat! Yeah, I know...it'll never work.... ;)
