He comes from a very long line of mutts but there was a bit of pit bull and maybe some hound in his family. Thin fur, square head and strong as an ox. Not the sharpest tool in the shed but makes up for it in character and kindness.

My best friend's dog that was like my little buddy also. Sadly he jumped out of the window of his truck and was hit by a car and killed last week :( Farley was probably the funniest dog ever and only 2 years old.

Now this is my pupp. She's a 12 year old Boston Terrier...

Slept like this practically all day...

Sadly, the little the guy has a cancerous sarcoma on his rear leg, which may eventually send him to the great Flying Spaghetti Monster in the sky (and for the record, he does like pasta). But at 15 years old, he has definitely hit a home run - countless bike rides, hikes in Pisgah, camping trips, cat humping, beers for my homies dribbled on his back, holes dug, bones hidden, rabbits merc'd, squirrels chased, and dead animals wallowed in. We should all be so lucky.

All that said, this cool weather has him acting like a 4 year old again, so who knows how long he has left. If he makes it another year, I will be convinced he is Rasputin reincarnated. May even start speaking Russian to him.

He's trying to outlive you. Oddsmakers are dropping the spread daily. ;)

FWIW, my Mom's beagle ate about a pound of chocolate fudge one Christmas eve. It was late, so we called the vet and they had us feed her a little hydrogen peroxide. Made her puke all of it up and she was fine. Not sure if I would try it with rat poison, but for large ammounts of chocolate or other foods that can make dogs sick, I thought it was a cool trick.
The peroxide foamed in his stomach causing him to upchuck. For chocolate or food I'm sure that's fine. But considering hydrogen peroxide is a very volatile chemical used in making IED explosives when mixed with other chemicals in either liquid or powder form, I wouldn't recommend using hydrogen peroxide on a dog unless the doctor says it's okay. Rat poison might have a certain chemical element in it that could react with the peroxide and kill the dog, make him sicker or worse, create an explosive reaction.

JHFC even a dog thread turns into a car discussion.
JHFC for my dog post. It's amazing, no one elses dog has got a negative comment on it but my dog post reels in two assholz. ;)

Awesome looking cat! Like the coat!

this was the car, un restored and top fighted.

i think he made off with 50,000 or some crazy number
I KNEW IT! I could see the shape through the car cover in your first shot. Figured it was the metal bumper version by how the cover laid on the front bumper and the side in front of the front wheel. If it was mint and with very low miles, all original, original owner with all matching numbers, I would believe he got $50K for it. It's 40 years old. At 50, they go for close to six figs. I have a '94, mint, 24K miles, not a chip on it. Drove it three times this summer. Getting ready to cancel the insurance for the winter.

Like its his fault your dog looks like it belongs on Toddlers and Tiaras Canine version? Or in a pastel colored bar in Key West? Cool dog, but somewhat effeminate looking...just sayin'
JohnE, did I make negative comments on your Husky Malamute? No. But you had to make one on my best friend. You obviously haven't seen what a pure breed Shetland Sheepdog looks like when purchased from a reputable AKC champion breeder. "Just say'n." Champion breeders sell ones with his type coat and markings for the $2000 range. And he's far from dainty. Fast as all get out, proved by countless dog obstacle competitions and sits with no fence in my front yard, no leash, ten feet from the street, and watches other people's dogs pull on their owner's chain going down the street and doesn't even bother to get up. He even knows the property line and never crosses it even unattended. He's that well behaved. Superior breeding. Border Collies are number one on the smartest of dogs list. Shetland Sheepdog is the border collie breed and come in at numbers 1 and 6 on the brightest dogs list. Yours comes in at number 45 and 50. Not to bright, "just say'n."

Shelties herd sheep on the Scottish moors. They're extremely fast and agile. Educate yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shetland_Sheepdog

This is our Japanese Chin, and his name is (wait for it).................. Chinney. I know, how unique, right? But this dog has the attitude of "it's all about me, and I have my lawyer on speed dial if you don't like what I do around here". It took a bit, yet his stand-off-ish attitude really rubbed off on me.

I have others (2 bichons, another Jap Chin, a rescue Aussie Shepherd, and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, as well as 4 others we've had to put down or passed away in the 14 years I've been with my wife), yet this guy is the most-est.

Now, if he could only grow longer legs so he could go on rides with me without me carrying him.....

Sorry, I'm having the hardest time figuring out what I'm looking at in that picture. It looks like a one eyed squid wearing a pirate hat with a bow.

Our Akita, Gomi- not the MMA fighter, btw...it means "bear" in Korean (wife is Korean). He's not terribly obedient, but he is loyal and would never hurt anyone. He's a bit of a weenie- didn't want to go outside today in a mild drizzle. He has lately taken to sleeping in my (very small) closet.

I didn't slip the Tigger under there. He just enjoys comfort.

This was our surprise last night upon coming home. Colt, hater of books in japanese, in style magazine and a gig posters book.

He's an exceptional dog 99% of the time, 1% of the time he decides he wants to trash a bunch of unimportant ****.

Posted Zoey earlier, but I thought this was hilarious. She went to all the trouble to go downstairs, get this off of the counter, then carefully bring my new cassette up to me right after I got out of bed. Must be trying to tell me to go ride instead of work... not a bad idea :)

Colt's new deal. awkward sleeping places. He's really taken to this little ottoman by the door/window.

previous house layout, colt yoga.

No I get it, PBR is cheap, but it's sort of like listening to Dio era Sabbath. Colt has adapted to portland quite well.

these black things are zoo damn lazy.
