I have a few questions concerning the different tunes of 2011 Rock Shox Vivid:

-Are there any differences on different tunes other than the shim stack configuration?

-Can all the tunes be reshimmed to any other "tune" (not necessarily a stock tune) with similar results?

-Do the red and blue stickers with letters (near the ending stroke rebound adjuster) tell the rebound and compression tune? My shock has red M and blue H, is this medium rebound and high compression?

I have seen parts kits for vivid tunes, they were cheap... maybe $15. So I think you can change tunes pretty easily, but not sure what's involved with doing the labor, or if the Vivid is N-charged...

Yeah you can buy the A/B/C shim kits off ebay for $10.

I changed my vivid over to an A tune. The kit was just for the shim stack on the piston - the low speed shim on the piston bolt and the compression assy in the reservoir were not changed.

Rebuilding them is easy enough but you need an appropriate pin spanner to open the caps. Rockshox sell them - can probably find these on ebay too. The RS instructions are very clear, plus there are also youtube instructions. Bleeding is easy - you don't need to submerge the shock, and you can charge with air (but you need a special adaptor, sold with the pin spanner)

Just as a side point - you also need a ridonculous size cone spanner, 30mm if memory serves. I couldn't find one and cut one out of plate......
