Another Sponsorship Question

Hi Guys-

I've been lurking at while have a question I was hoping you could help me answer.

Lets say a rider has a grassroots sponsorship by a frame company, nothing impressive, he gets deals on frames and in return does all the things that a grassroots rider is expected to do.

One day, something on that frame cracks. Maybe front triangle, maybe swingarm, whatever. He calls the company and all they are able to provide is a replacement, but in a different color. Cool, he gets to keep riding... awkward- he now has a multi-colored bike that he is taking to races. How exactly should he explain what the deal is when someone asks him how he likes his bike and why is it two tone? Does it even matter?

if you were pro enough you wouldn't care wat it looks like as long as you can get to races and have support.

Tell them you are testing a super secret prototype that you aren't allowed to discuss

Sarcasm?

If I was pro- I wouldn't have a grassroots sponsorship. I just like racing and I appreciate companies that can help me do it cheaply. I didn't know the etiquette required for this so I figured I would ask.

I've seen so many people who freak out over a picture of this or that frame that either broke or cracked that I didn't want to be the guy who started rumors about this frame.

Thanks for the help yall.

Suspect Device has the answer.

Accept that things break - look at the positives, not the negatives of the situation.
