Angled headset effect on geometry

Can anybody give me a concise answer...what effect does a 2* reducer headset have on the geometry of a bike? Primary concerns are top tube length, wheelbase, and BB height. I'm having trouble finding resources that will tell me what to expect.

Kind of a cross post from the driver 8 discussion...

Not sure if this is as detailed as you would like but....

Top Tube Length - Would be shortened slightly since the steer tube is angling back towards you. However if you left the same amount of spacers under your stem it would mean your bars would be slightly lower (since slackening your bike lowers your front end/entire bike a bit) so it might cancel out the steer tube angling back.

Wheelbase - Would be lengthened obviously, Probably could gain an inch or so with a 2 degree headset

BB height - From what I have heard, 2 degrees would be around 1/4 inch lower

Other things it changes

Seat Angle - It steepens the seat angle. The slacker you go in the front, the steeper the seat tube angle gets.

this is interesting; haven't played around enough to determine relevance, but looks like you can input adjustable hs numbers to see the effect on other measurements:

geometryCalc

pretty neat, actually...

using a angled headset ( ex a angleset )

will allow you the slacken the head angle,by doing so,your wheelbase will increase, your bb will drop a bit, toptube will not be effected.

toptube/stack will effected by how you run the stanchions on the crowns/stem stack

Response from works components:

The reduction in TT will be from offsetting the steerer 'backwards' towards you. The bearing is offset on average 2mm but this will be increased the futher the bars are mounted away - the taller the stem the greater the effect but plan for around 5mm or so and work from there. Wheelbase will be around the 15-20mm mark, but this will depend on previous headset setup, again its a good ballpark figure to go on.

I was looking at the driver 8...it's got weird sizing, and I'm between a M and an L. I was trying to figure out whether I could suddenly fit on a L with an angleset, and alternatively whether an M would work. Looks like it won't change anything significantly enough to make me fit on one.

I'd go for the L if that's tempting but I'd lurk ebay more. Last year had more than one closeout. Worst case scenario find a euro friend and get a yt or a canyon.

Also how much do the offset sock bearigs change the geo? Have you thought about a modded el cuervo? The susp suposedly is great, the only thing it needs is lower bb. Slightly at that. That or doing a turner style drill mod.
