No, I only bought the frame from Trek. I picked up the RC2 fork, I wasn't interested in the air assisted 40.
You crazy? Why didn't you want the super duper new ICUP edition? They are miles better and only slow people and internet retards will ride regular 40s when p-spec converts his.

I think the pedals and wheels look good on the bike, but the red cables are going too far. Overall, the bike looks incredible, good job. Curious to see some reviews once people get to owning and riding these 9.9 Carbons....

How is cornering on the 9.9?
I love my Session (large) but there are two downsides:

One is the problem that this bike is just not as flickable as I'd say a demo or other bikes are. I got the impression that due to the ABP the bike gets so much grip during braking that the bike is still hard to flick around even if the rear wheel is locked. Maybe a shorter chainstay could help? Have other people made the same expirience?

And the other one is that the bike isn't that good in continuous chunder. This problem should be solved on the 9.9.

Can someone compare to the old Session 88? And how this properties have changed on the new one?

I had a 2009 session 88 and I couldn't disagree with you more. I found that I could toss the 2009 session around easily. I felt that the balance of the bike was spot on, when taking off of a road gap there wasn't any mid air correction the bike just seem to find the sweep spot and stay there.

Another huge reason I love the session so much is because of how great if feels while cornering.... however I will say that if your suspension isn't setup correctly it will feel out of control. After some trial and error, with a little help from a buddy I was able to dial in the suspension and the bike felt amazing..

Keep in mind that with everything I've said I came from riding Kona's (not knocking Kona at all) but this was a big step up in technology and cost, I can't compare to a Demo having never dusted a tail with one.

Sick build man, i'm jealous. Make sure you post your weight when your build is done and a ride report would be sweet. Enjoy the new rig!

I personally don't give a fvck about what your bike weights but the Parktool scale gives very unaccurate numbers when you mount it like that (not pointing straight down). Better way is to let it hang from the shoe lace thing that it comes with.

15,84 kg.

But I agree, the mounting of the scale looks very "alternative". Scale shot with it hanging straight down and the saddle not leaning on the stand will be better. A way I've found to weigh my bikes when it's hard to balance it is to flip it upside down and hang it from the tacoguard.

i also dont think that scale has been properly calculated by some nerd in a testing lab. please get a certified scale before posting any more shots.

I am not saying it's a real weight, I'm just wondering, coz every LBS/KG calculator gives me different result :| I've got 15,42kg elsewhere...

After a cold couple weeks in Colorado, we got out riding today. Thanks to A Culture of Speed for one of the most fun mountain bikes ever made.
