Its like people who say specialized is the best manufacturer in the world,to bad they don't actually make their bikes.

its all MARKETING.

p.s everyone I know with a 888ti people love them, the only problem is the lact of compression ajust, wich has been fixed for 2012.
At first I thought, maybe it's the ESL language barrier thing, then I realized ...

I had a 2006 888WC with the fancy silver coated legs. I loved it. Rode it until this year. Five years, only had to replace a leg once because I knocked the coating off of it at N*. One service a season, changed the seals, and it worked like a champ. And I am not a small man, nor do I have any finesse skills.

I was hoping to do a 888ti when I build up the new 303. Does anyone know if the stiffer springs are sold anywhere for us fatties?

i think one of the most retarded moments in business history is marzocchi moving production to asia.

if you are selling $1000+ mountain bike accesories, which is very high end/borderline luxury, regardless of what we bike snobs believe, and decide to manufacture them in Asia to cut costs (whats the actual cost of manufacturing/retail really???), you are killing the very reason of its existance....

its as if zegna or brioni decided to emply chinese sweatshops to make their tailor-made suits....

It's funny that nobody has mentioned the economic plight of Italy (as a nation) as [what I believe to be] a pretty big driving factor behind this....

^^

I was wondering the samething.

Regardless, as I implied before on RM, Zochs are going to be the new Happy Meal prize...

And like Ih8rice and others who actually own the newer EVO models, I have found mine to be an outstanding fork (even stock). Looking to get Ronnie to give the Ih8rice treatment over the winter.

Marz move to asia, wasnt as such a bad move, they just didnt do their research about other cultures properly.

look at Evil bikes and banshee, they had bikes made at the same factory, but evil seems to have forgotten to station someone there permanently to do the QC, where as im fairly sure thats the move that banshee did, put at least a couple of guys there doing the on-site QC.

You would think bigger companies like marz would know better, but they werent the first to forget the cultural details in dealing with these far east countries.

And im sure they wont be the last.

The Marzo move to Taiwan was sad, since Italy still designs and produces the very highest level of products in some sectors such as automotive and textile/fashion. In those categories, Italy has much higher cachet and, I would argue, performance and quality, than what the US makes when it comes to clothing and motor vehicles.

Italians still make stuff; and I wish they still made mountain bike suspension.

be nice if the company continued, i hate to see a top tier player disappear and have less competition. Always nice having companies competing to raise the bar.

Italian cars are the crap, lambos are made by VW now,and made them quite more reliable wich is hilarious wen you think about it.anyway alfa are huge piles of junk and thats italian. They also make crap like everyone, everyone also makes high end things just in all diferent markets, eccept china and overseas, and everyone knows it.Hell my old job made me realise it,production from us always in spec, stuff from china, always all chip and needing polishing buff for proper seatment anyway.I hope marz sticks around, just for the current customers,I looked into one just because I can't handle spring ratle anymore.

not our experience in the UK, 2010-2011 return rate of +75%, all QC issues ( frame tolerances and virtual pivots )

helps if the QC guy can actually be bothered to do his job ;0
