I was thinking of ways to improve my 2002 M1. I remembered CaneCreek was looking at making a 1 1/8 angled head set. I sent them an email asking when they were going to make it and got this response.

Currently the prototyping for that size head tube has been postponed. We may revisit that design later, but it will most likely never reach production.

my guess - due to space constraints, the amount of adjustment that was possible was extremely limited, to the point that it wasn't worth developing and producing.

For things like this would it be worth it (totally speculating here) for companies such as, say Hope for example to make "offset" crowns to change "headtube" angle? Headtube angle would remain the same but it would acheive the same effect of getting the front wheel out farther, yes? Or would this just be plain retarded?

too lazy to dig it up, but don't forget that guy in Europe making fixed angle sets for various 1.125 HT lengths. thread on mtbr turner forum. from all reports, the product is legit and works well. dunno if anyone is using it for DH DC forks.

i believe he's in israel - last time i checked his prices were considerably more than the works components HS. i do think he can do more than 1* for 1.125 head tubes though depending on the head tube length. works does a max 1* for 1.125.
