not sure if this was announced or common knowledge but it's the first i'd heard about it.

i noticed the sunline bike link redirects to sunline moto last week. i emailed sunline this morning to ask about this and was told they are done with their bike line.

I called them recently to ask a question about a stem. They said they had sold off all of their inventory and were discontinuing the line/brand for mtb entirely.

it appears as if the butchering and distribution of the remains is taken care of by chainlove. Feeding frenzy, everyone!

edit: kind of a bummer, I've owned a few bars and stems from them, all good!

^^ and Huck'nRoll. You can get Jason's brainchild, the Travel Guide, for $35.

Sad to see that One gutted the cycling division; but I felt it coming last year.
That's a screamin' deal for that chainguide! Someone like specialized should pick up the brand(or name of it) and use it as their OEM brand. Kinda like trek/bontrager, etc.

really liked my Sunline 745 bars - the first "big bar" I owned after years of Easton Ea bars

totally transformed the ride of my bike :)

in one of my last jobs, we sold alot of their bars, and their stems were popular too, but we never stocked any of their other kit (pedals, headsets, etc.) as it seemed quite generic compared to other market leading brands

Odd One is exiting the component line with one brand while bringing to market the bike specific apparel.

Not sure 100% but also heard Marzocchi was done with their bike line up too. That makes 2 Moto compaies out of the game. Anyone else know more? Like I said this is something I heard and not 100% sure.

The chainlove deals are great... guides, handlebars and stems for around $30.

I wonder if Marzocchi would be doing better if they never outsourced their production to China?

Well they had a good run with being one of the first companies to offer wider bars, dm stems, reducer headsets etc but most of them were ****ty catalog products so when the competition cought up to them no one really wanted to buy their stuff.

Though tbh i'm a bit suprised considering that many parts in the nuke proof catalog are the same as sunline.

I always thought sunline was just an offshoot of FSA or some larger taiwanese catalog brand. I honestly didn't know they actually brought anything new to the table.

But nukeproof is better priced, has better distribution and marketing in Europe anyway.

my easton havoc dh bars have the same rise, up and back sweep as the sunline 745s i have. so if you really like those bars, the havocs are the same just wider.

does this mean all my stems/bars are gonna become collectables?

Chainlove has been blowing out Sunline stuff for awhile. Good for the consumer. Get colored 29.5" bars for all your bikes!! :panic:

Surprising because the kit was pretty good and competitively priced. Not suprising considering how fickle the market is and goes with whatever the hot ticket is riding right now.

Good? You mean the bending bars, the worst headset ever, the not so strong stem, the heavy chainguide and the average pedals? Some of the parts where good when they came out but now? There are much better products on the market.
