so the person who is taking care of my dog for me cant watch him anymore (he killed her rabbit). hes about 45-50lb australian cattle dog mix. he is very energetic and very playful. he gets along pretty well with other dogs. he does need space to run around and he is VERY fast. if anyone wants him or knows of anyone we can work something out. i dont want any money i just want to put him into a good home. i would keep him myself but im living at my parents house and they wont have him. hes about 4 years old.

I'm sorry you can't keep him. If we weren't on opposite sides of the country I'd offer to take him for you. We're thinking of getting another ACD to go with the one we've already got.

Tj you might want to check out living free animal shelter in idyllwild . It's a No put down shelter and they hopefully can find him a good home .

Hope you find a good home! I'd be devastated if I had to give up my pup.

I'm game if transportation can be worked out. I just talked to my wife about it and she agrees.

How is he around bikes, off leash, etc?

hes great around bikes, he doesnt chew up cables etc. he does have alot of energy. so he needs lots of activities. tennis balls are his favorite. if you hop on the bike with a leash he will run you till the cows come home. it amazes me how fast he is. he has been with my friend for about 6 months so i dont know if he has learned any bad habits. he behaves when i visit him

if you can work something out that would be awesome! i really want him to go to a good home, what better than a home with another ACD. at least theyll keep each other occupied
I can't imagine how much trouble they could get into if they put their minds together. Chase (the little guy above) is one of the smartest dogs I've ever met. Keeping him occupied involves puzzles and games, several walks a day and 2-3 trips a week to the dog park for tennis ball fetch. In better weather we take him camping in Maine and Vermont, mountain biking, hiking, etc. Rest assured, if your pup ends up here with us he'll be well loved and well cared for.

Front Range, dude...
I shipped pets via Delta Dash before. Its a branch of Delta airlines...I dont know if they are still around, but may be worth a shot.

Almost wish I was still in So Cal, I could totally give him a good home...

My Dad is in a running group with a lot of dog people up in OC. He's putting the word out too.

giving a dog away and then showing up for visits seems like torture for the dog....

i didnt give him away, she was taking care of him until i could find a place that would allow me to have him. thats not going to be any time soon so im giving him up because i want him to be happy. whats the issue with that?

TJ send me your phone number. A few people in my Dad's running club up in laguna might be interested.

Over your shoulder whispering
I would never give up my dog. He drives me insane all day every day, but would never trust him in any other home. I don't like him half as much as my kids, but he's my boy. :D

I'm either selfish or I love the big idiot:
