I've heard that Snowshoe Bike Park has some news for all its riders in 2012: Here's the word...

They're eliminating the Western Territory Shuttle Bus and running the Western Express Hi Speed Quad every day that the WT is open this season... at least 68 days of WT Lift Ops this year! (Fri-Sun during Spring & Fall and Thur-Sun during the Summer)

They're also purchasing bike carriers for both the Western Express and Ballhooter Lifts to speed up uphill transport time and capacity (and to take better care of your shiny new fork)!

Snowshoe Bike Park has also hired Gravity Logic who have already designed 2 new trails... a new Beginner Trail on the Basin and a new intermediate jump trail on the Western Terrritory. Tree clearing is already complete on the Beginner Trail! Construction to begin in April!

More news to come... pass the word.

Sad news.....although the bus was probably slower it was entertaining.and I guess they have a plan for that halfway/shortbus trail.

That's pretty awesome.

Can we get them to run the shuttle bus from a spot about 50 miles out and back to the resort so I can stop doing that twisty drive at wee hours of the morning?

I felt safer on any trail than on the shuttle bus, so that means I had a blast on it! A new jump trail sounds fun! I can't wait to get riding this year!

Awesome! The bus ride will be missed... that was part of the experience, sliding off the seats on the hairpin turns. Couple of the dudes that worked there said, "you think his driving is interesting in the summer? You should try riding with him in the winter months".

The bus will still be there... They'll need it to get people back up in case of lightning. The best thing about the bus was that it made it easier to hook up with your buddies if you got split up. It is also where I have met the most people. However, it really sucked when the buses got off schedule and the wait at the bottom was 30-45 minutes or worse if it was too crowded and you didn't get a spot.

I think that this news is great and will only help make a great riding experience even better. Just under 5 months till opening weekend...can't wait!!!
