Shooting rats with night vision

A few days ago I got to go on a hunt in the butte sink of northern cali. the owner of the property who was hosting the hunt was a major rice grower in the area and hosted drinks and a BBQ at his house. once dinner was over we went out into the night with ridiculously priced air rifles donned with night vision scopes and shot dozens of rats that hang around the rice dyers.

The rifles were run off compressed air and were subsonic and very quiet. the infrared emitter on the scope will illuminate the rats eyes well over 100 yards thus giving you the perfect target.

I literary shot dozens of rats in the hour or so. the only reason we stopped was lack of booze.

I am now waiting for my rifle and scope to come via ups

I tried a new rat bait mix over the weekend - small piece of walnut covered in peanut butter, sprinkled with bacon bits. Irresistible, caught one within a couple hours.

The bakery next to our new rehearsal studio really needs to deal with the problem though. They keep venturing over to our space. I ****ing HATE rats.

You'll shoot your eye out?

Those rifles are amazing. Not sure what you were using but I know some of those modern air rifles are serious business.

I'd have used a PEQ-2. Gotta love the 80s laser-sight feel.

Those guns must be fun. Still, don't you think a political campaign to address the reasons for the rats' behavior would be more strategically effective than a war of attrition?
