Beech Is more than a worthy venue. a lot of people didint come because they had doubts but everyone there was very surprised. They put together what I thought was one of the best race courses of the season. Angel fire will be awesome as well. I've only rode there once and that was in 10 inches fresh snow and I had a blast.

It will be fun to go back to Angelfire. I did collegiate nationals there in 2006 and the course was great. Yes, there were some pedally fire roads. There were also steep rock gardens. Everything was *big* and the course was really long. Not to mention it started at 11,000 feet. :thumb:

The NationalChamps Course will be shortened to 3-5 min per USAC/UCI Rules. The start will be a bit lower. Everyone I know loves this place, wish I could make it.

Angel Fire has a couple of different start points, with WC DH starting a minute down the fire road. I would hate to start any lower then that. The first video I posted above shows the newer MSC starting point into the woods. Is that Pepperspray?

Yeah up high was the biggest, steepest rock garden. If they made it shorter that probably won't be in the course. But better for my sea-level lungs.

This is going to be awesome.

I sure hope they don't have to neuter the course length. Fast pros should be able to hit 5 minutes there, the rest of us just need to be ready for the arm pump.

Uh oh, it looks like jasonvelocity is unleashing his full internetting skills. Watch out....kitten pictures are only one smartazz remark away.

Btw, that map is flawed. I do not agree that it's a "reasonable drive" to a location that's 500 miles west of San Francisco.

Love teh pic, FT. Great nerdery Velocity!

If you haven't been to AF in a while, you're in for a treat. They've added a more "bike park" feel with more flow/jump trails of varying difficulty while still maintaining constant grin factor.

Here's a fun lil vid that shows some of AF's other bits of fun.

Great mountain, long drive from Norcal but we will be there, this time I will fill up to the top before the short cut on the ET highway. Also if you say "hey look kids" when you see an antelope remember they are herd animals and there may be others about to run in front of you.
