Is it ok to buy a 2011 Turner DHR?

CRC have some stock of 2011 turner dhr frames, I'm thinking of buying one as a long time turner lover but when I look around the net I see some crap being talked about them and I did see a friends fluro yellow one out in morzine last summer had some hairline cracks at the front shock mount. I know turners warranty is excellent as I have used it twice before for my old DHR's but don't want to have to go down that road. Just wondering how everyone else has got on with them?

I haven't seen or heard of any shock mount cracks so it's probably not endemic or anything. Call Turner and ask them if it concerns you. They'll level with you.

The only thing that WAS an issue was the very first run of triangles getting gusset cracks under the downtube/headtube junction but Turner reeled those in right quick and there were only a few that even went out. I doubt CRC would be sitting on any.

I love mine. I still haven't ridden anything else that makes me even question riding something else. If you've had some of the older single pivot frames you'll probably really like it. A little lower, a little slacker, noticeably stiffer and a little more plow than the old ones without wallowing at all. Still just as poppy and responsive. About the only annoying thing with them is that you have to grind the swing link to get a vivid air on it. I did it and am really glad I did but I'm not going to tell it you it was fun or that it feels great grinding down your new frame.

This bike is unreal. It feels very similar to the revolt (without qc issue). It is really stable, keeps momentum like crazy! Very fast bike. Although, it doesn't like flatish track at all.

What's the problem with that phraseology?

At least all of their customers were taken care of. I love my reworked frame. It's the best bike I've ever ridden.
I second this remark. My "re-worked" frame came with this awesomely cool free benefit of getting to pick any color under the Olympic Paint rainbow. Couldn't be happier.

Ian & Woo...you both committed an RM foul. Posting commments about your custom Turner in rsponse to purchase inquiry dictates a self indulgent pic accompany your statement.

Not to troll, but I love how "re-worked" is a added gusette.

Atleast they claim warrenty.
It's more than a gussett. They rebuilt the entire junction with a different downtube/top tube interface as well. You know.......building it better. What a bunch of dicks right?

Never said the customers weren't taken care of,I was boosting the fact that he holds his claim of warrenty and MANUFACTURER defects.

Don't buy a Turner. They're too rowdy and will buck you.

Really!?! I've got a sweet black anodized frame. I ended up with a ugly raw front end...after 2 months of wait.

I love the bike tho...but it's now ugly.

Because they wouldn't annodize it or because you didn't want to wait to have it annodized?

Send that thing back in while it's still winter.
Was sick of waiting. Took the first large frame I could get. Sent them my old frame end of may....received it end of july.
I don't think they would annodize it by now. Still worth sending a email...

If you can't ride because of winter/snow whatever, see when they're doing another batch.

I'm in the same boat kind of. I got a raw frame just because I didn't want to wait for a color. I know it's because I was in a hurry though ;)

But that black annodized looks pretty sick. That's the same finish my 5 spot is.

I received my black powder coated DHR frame a couple weeks ago and have started the mock up build. Have an X-Fusion HLR air on its way so I can compare it to the RC4 which I will have to try 450-550lb spings on to get it dialed, the stock 350 spring aint gonna work for a 200 pounder when geared up. Will posy pics and let ya know what I think in a month or so. Sold an 08 V10 to get this and had a Demo 8II before that. If it wasnt ski season for me I would be all over this thing by now.

I forgot the subject matter of the post. Hell yes its ok to buy!
