Plattekill Bike Park will open for riding April 14st
Plattekill Bike Park located in Roxbury, NY is proud to announce the 2012 Plattekill season. Plattekill has been hosting downhill mountain bike riding and racing for over sixteen years. That will continue full force in 2012. Plattekill Bike Parks last day of biking in 2011 was December 4th , a record. They will follow that up with the earliest opening day in history. The bike park will open for riding April 14st with the annual work weekend a week earlier. The first race of the season will be the Third Annual Gravity Open on Memorial day Weekend , May 27th.
The Gravity Open will be part of the prestigious USA Cycling National Pro GRT and Eastern States Cup Series. The race takes place Memorial Day weekend and will feature many national and international stars. Previous winners have included UCI World Champions. Plattekill Bike Park will host four Eastern States Cup Series races, the finals of the USAC NYS State Championships and the USAC Eastern Regional Championships.
The trails are endless and offer something for riders of all abilities. The fall line trail sections are steep. The natural terrain offers loose shale with large rock drops. Plattekill Bike Park uses two lifts accessing two distinct peak areas. Lift attendants place your bikes on the chair for the ride up. The base lodge offers a cafeteria, bike shop and restrooms. On the deck great burgers and refreshments will be available.

Its for everyone interested in helping get the Plattekill bike trails kicked into shape and getting a chance to ride our world-class trails before anyone else. All who help out will get a free Lunch and a delicious BBQ along with a few other surprises that Delta House has been working on. This is a fun weekend to meet up with friends you havent seen since last season and a chance to get your bike dialed in.
We'll be working on Saturday and riding on Sunday starting at 9am. Sign in at 9am Saturday in the base lodge.
All Saturday workers will ride for free on Sunday and receive a pass for another day of riding at the park.
