So it looks like I will be coming to Fairfield to help take care of my nephews for a couple months while my brother is on a short deployment and I am hoping to find some people who might be willing to show me around. Are there any lift assisted bike parks close or any other local trails that someone might be willing to show me. I will be bring the DH bike and hopefully some kind of trail bike that I havent bought yet

Livin it up in the O.C.
Northstar is the best/only option for lift assisted DH. there might be a few other places up in Tahoe, but again, Northstar is really the only REAL spot worth going to in my opinion.

The only other DH trails that I know of are on the peninsula and you will have to have people show them to you. I can't bc I live in SoCal now. ;)

In the "bay" you will need to shuttle or push up.

Your best options for DH are Pacifica or Joaquin Miller. Trail riding is much more plentiful around the bay.

If you want to leave the bay area you have more options. Santa Cruz is near by and has some great riding. I recently discovered that Auburn has some awesome shuttle-able trails (the guys at Auburn Bike Works have all the maps you need and can usually help you find trails, unless it is only BMX kids working when you go in).

Don't really know anything about the riding or shops near Fairfield, sorry.

If you will be in town the 19th through 22nd you should try to make it to Sea Otter. There are DH and DS races and lots of big names (Gwin, Hart, etc.) will be there racing and hanging out. Not to mention the HUGE bike festival.

There is Rockville, pretty nice trail riding in the area. It has some nice somewhat flowy technical place. As far as shops go, Rays is a good place as well as my personal favorite Rockville bike.

rockville would be dope on a big bike.. not the best place for DH (i usually ride it on my DJ with just a rear brake), but there are some little gnar features here and there.. i wanna do it before the rain comes.
