This happened near where my grandparents live.

http://www2.wnct.com/news/2012/apr/15/23/police-two-intruders-shot-and-killed-burglary-atte-ar-2165808/

According to police, three residents returned home to find two intruders in the house.

Police say the intruders attacked the residents and gunfire was exchanged. The two intruders killed have been identified as 33-year-old Diego Everett and 33-year-old Maurice Skinner, both from Jacksonville.

The three residents of the home were treated and released from Onslow Memorial Hospital. Two of the residents are active duty Marines based out of Camp Lejeune.

No charges have been filed at this time.

Awesome. I can just imagine how that went down. Sideways gangster guns spraying wildly vs. trained shoot to kill professionals.

Steal here, die here. Its a good concept.

I could go on a rant, but I'll resist. Man has a right to defend his home is all I am going to say.

The incredibly sad part is if they weren't Marines, they'd be in jail, and Jesse Jackson would be involved for them shooting and killing poor defensive black men trying to make ends meet in today's tough economy.

Yes, that's why NCIS has jurisdiction. They're, I'd guess, confined to quarters on base at the moment, waiting to speak to the investigators. Even if it wasn't a good shoot, the Corps still has jurisdiction. Once in a blue moon the UCMJ is a good thing.

I'd suspect that they'll be found in good standing and cleared at the first JAG hearing they can get them to.

None the less, and now I am going to rant, if this little ass bag in Florida changes things, I find deep regret in the fact that I fought for a country where a man cannot protect himself or his home for fear of the rantings of some racial mob. Someone needs to consider drawing and quartering Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al.

Front Range, dude...
Dirt, was version of the UCMJ are you reading? Not the same one I read from...a crime off base is a crime off base. NCIS has no jurisdiction off the yard...you have been watching too much tv. Jurisdiction is the locals...

This is correct. As a former MP I was intimately familiar with the MCM and UCMJ.

Yes, it's terrible the way some uppity black people don't want to get shot for walking around with a bag of Skittles.

Stupid naggers always demanding rights that white folks have...

Only time I ever had to deal with the UCMJ was oddly when I wasn't in service. Somehow I avoided those pesky MP's for my 4 years.

I had one case in VB. NCIS/JAG came in and tried to take a case out of my hands as the PD. They took that kid onto base and that was that. Somehow they pulled him from off the reservation. As it was explained to my boss, which was then explained to me, they had jurisdiction.
