I'm planning on riding in and around Ellijay, GA on the 16th,17th and 18th. Does anybody know what kind of shape Carters Lake DH trail is in?

...trying to knock down a tree with a sledge hammer, pics of certain persons sh1t coiling up like a cobra in a toilet, and being challenged to a drinking contest. I can't remember if I won.
I swear that sledge hammer sounded exactly like a gun. Who was that dude you almost puked on? If any, he was the loser. I thought Karl said something about the turd being so big it had lamprey turds. What a night.
It was Jeff Dien I think. Couldn't see a face only heard "don't puke on my bed bro". Then woke up next to my sister in law instead of my wife

The Ellijay trip was awesome. Bear creek and the Pinhoti trails are a most for all MTBers DH to XC guys. The Winy Gap trail was on of the best Allmountain trail I have ever riden(2000ft of vert). Carter lake was in the best shape I've ever seen it even the beginner trail was super fun. The lip on the creek gap seemed a little steeper than it needed to be but I'm not the best leaper so maybe its just me.
Sweet. Gotta go ride pinhoti soon. Never ridden in GA.

Yea, I've never ridden Big Creek but it looks fun. I've only ridden the XC trails around Mulberry gap resort and Carters lake DH trail both are near Ellijay. I've seen some video from Blanket creek and it looks really fun to. I highly recommend the Windy Gap trail, Pinhoti 3 and Bear Creek trails if you make it up to Ellijay. Best on a long travel trail bike or light AM bike.
We've been thinking of planning a trip out that way in May. I'd really like to get out there.

so how do I get to the carters lake DH trails from downtown ellijay?
Follow 76/282 west out of Ellijay. At Dotson rd make a left. Dotson turns into Ridgeway rd. The trails end at the boat launch. You'll see an access road with a gate there. A your coming in on Ridgeway, before you turn right to go to the boat dock look for another access road at the top. There is also some parking at the top before you head down to the boat dock. That's the best I can describe it. The beginner trail starts of to the left of the access road back up from the main run. You'll miss it if your not looking for it. Hope this helps.

Anybody want to shuttle Carter's this weekend?
headed to carters lake dh trails saturday morning and riding all day then camping and riding sunday..I'm going to bring my xc buddy with me, never been to these trails so I'd someone wants to shuttle or be my tour guide id be appreciative!
