Personally, I LOVE rain rides, with the right clothing of course. But I find the rain to be refreshing...man I miss Portland.
I don't mind it when I'm on my mtn bike, but my road ride is not nearly as much fun... I am supposed to be dressed up for work so when I come in looking like a wet rat with my long hair all jacked and mud on my face... it's not ideal. The way home is just fine when your hubby has a hot bath waiting for you on the other end of the ride!!! :-D

Went to a new area today called Rocky Top road. Its a mountainous area with a bunch of singletrack action. My dad and I went up there for the first time today and had a blast! Afterwards we went on a group ride with me, him, and his grilfriend. All in all it was a good riding day!

Hey! Right on man. Myself and a few others are the folks building the trails at Rocky Top. We are building more and more, probably working out there this weekend too. Nice to see other Yakimaniacs on the Ridemonkey.

I also just realized you are in eastern WA!! I missed the rain when I lived over there too! :)

And where is this Rocky Top you and boostindoubles are talking about? We head east frequently and I'd like to hit up some trails out there :)

Rocky Top is in Yakima, on Rocky Top Road off of Summitview. Its going to be a good trailhead in a few months. Probably only 7-8 miles of finished trail one way right now. There is more under construction!

It's not from today but since my work lately means working non stop for 3 weeks than some time off and then working non stop again I just do 1 week resort trips. Last time was Maribor and I finally got the photos from the new FR tracks. They are ****ty since my friend spends too much time talking about photograhpic theory and too little time actually doing photos but still I love that place and will be there again in a few weeks. Great hill, great tracks, great wine and the local women are hot. Amazing place.

Unfortunately we had a camera problem so no rockgarden or huge roadgap photos. It's a curse. I've been trying to get good photos of both for the last 1.5 years.

Was yesterdays ride, but it what was intended to be a chill trail ride ended up a 4,5 hour 28 mile ride on techy forest trails.. Damn that was nice.

Couple laps in Acadia National Park this morning, with extra credit cool down on the dirt carriage roads. Sweet.

Went DHing with some of the guys on Saturday at Swain. Had a really good time and only a few minor crashes for all of us.

Beer break at the bar for lunch.

Front Range, dude...
Did the local loop through the rolling woods and logging trails, dodging horses and locals along the way. Got about 2 hours of good spinning, some fire road climbs, little single track and even some stinging nettle...not a bad day on the bike, even beat the rain back to the haus...

Gave the GoPro a whirl on Fromme. It was a little too muddy for the seatpost mount, but tried it out anyway. Got a couple decent screenshots:

big-ted keeping it slow enough to stay behind me

big ted forgetting to tighten the seat clamp to keep it pointed straight.

a wee bit of mud

Went single track riding earlier this morning. Had a good time but it was VERY muddy and slippery at times from all the rain yesterday.
