You need to swing that bus South a bit in BC and head thru the Kootenays. Hit Nelson and Rossland. Lots of lakes and big descents.
nice dude sounds beautiful.. half of the trip for me revolves around photography cause thats a huge hobby of mine too, so i am stoked to see this kind of scenery

Radness!! Should be awesome.

A friend of mine had a contest to name his Sportsmobile. The winner was "Vangina". I don't think he would mind you guys stealing it, but it would have to be plastered up in big letters.
lmfao thats a good one... were starting to rack up some good names

I f-ed up one time and left my holster in my truck when we crossed over the border. I guess 4 big guys, me fully sleeved and with a mohawk at the time, were going to get searched. They took four hours, and the damn Pakistani guard kept asking me to lift my shirt so he could check and make sure I hadn't put my gun in my belt or under my gunt.

Best of all, they left all of our crap just sitting on the ground. Another 1/2 hour to repack the truck. **** the border patrol for Canada, when I become dictator they're first at the firing squad. Then New Jersey.
were going into the border clean cut, respectable, and no alcohol ( from all these stories i dont know why they are such pricks )

whats the style like in the U.S if you get pulled over? do they have the right to search our bus?

What do you mean? As if the cops pulled you over somewhere in the states?

It goes like this, if its not in plain sight, and the trunk or the glove box are locked, you need a warrant.
Jay-Z said it best:
"License and registration and step out of the car"
"Are you carrying a weapon on you I know a lot of you are"
I ain't stepping out of **** all my papers legit
"Do you mind if I look round the car a little bit?"
Well my glove compartment is locked so is the trunk and the back
And I know my rights so you gon' need a warrant for that
"Aren't you sharp as a tack are some type of lawyer or something?"
"Or somebody important or something?"
Nah I ain't passed the bar but I know a little bit
Enough that you won't illegally search my ****
"Well see how smart you are when the K-9's come"
I got 99 problems but a bitch ain't one
Back packs fall under the same idea in theory, but they tend to avoid rights when you're on the back roads and its easier to rectally violate your rights. Asking for a warrant is what I always do, but the guns in the truck are my guns, I don't carry them in CA, NJ, NY or anywhere that either a) doesn't recognize any of my CCW's or b) who does not recognize federal safe passage laws. I never keep contraband in the truck, no open containers, nothing that can give a cop even a millimeter of a reason to search my truck.

**** the police!

All this complaining about travel into Canada and our ****ty beer is hilarious. I believe that the reason for the increased scrutiny at the border is due to pressure from the States after 911. Like others have mentioned, if you have all your paper work in order and present yourself in a professional manner, then all will be fine. Make sure to listen to Raingauge and head to Nelson and Rossland, probably the best riding in the country, imho. Have fun!

As for the beer, try these:
Okanagan Spring
Granville Island
Whistler Brewing
Big Rock
Shaftebury
Bowen Island
The list goes on and on.

Gurney, why is it all of the beer I could find at the liquor store in Whistler is 5.0%? You know how hard it is for a large man to get hammered on 5.0 beer? And at those prices it makes me consider becoming a Mormon.

Funny that you mentioned that. I will admit that trying to find beer above 5% can be difficult. On the plus side you can always just drink more. I remember thinking the same thing about 'Merican beer, then I moved to Alaska and realized that the craft breweries in the states have really taken off. As for the price, it is a crying shame what we pay.

Beer should be a right not a privilege.

Beer should be like socialized medicine or college eduction in Canada: state subsidized! Especially for us visitors, like an act of international good will and to keep us from getting into bar fights at Whistler!

While in Whistler, did you check out the local brew pubs? Sometimes they have higher % brews. The other odd thing about Canadian beer is the lack of representation from the other provinces. Good luck finding a beer made east of Alberta in BC.

We went to that place below Whistler Inn and Suites, I think its called the Keg. By then we were wrecked on bourbon. One of my buddies met a nice massage therapist at that bar, lost him for 12 hours. He came back very... relaxed.

check out the unibroue beers, la fin du monde is cheap being canadian and not paying tariffs. kick ass beer that is a solid 9%. actually most of their beers are high test and delish... 7$ for a big bottle (750ml) Maudite is super good too. Awesome art on the labels too!

ALWAYS take the maximum amount of beer allowed with you into Canada which is one case per person. You are doing it wrong if you don't have a case each of high ABV micros with you. The prices for liquor in Canada are much closer to the price of liquor here so don't waste your alcohol allowance on that.

I admit I am a beer snob but I found the local selection to be quite lacking. They freaking love their wheat beer in BC.

Mount 7 is an incredible place to ride. The sheer amount of steepness of that hill is staggering. + easy camping right at the bottom of the trail with freight trains to keep you awake all night!
