Hey all!

I just want to get the word out for Bromont's Classic Race taking place in 2 weeks, there will be a downhill race, a dual slalom race and an after party with invited artists.

This event replace bromont's Canada cup that was taking place for the last years with a new organization. Downhill course will be the 18 with a small part of the 9, a much better track than the world cup it is replacing if you ask me. We also built a brand new dual slalom track that is very promising. All the events and the party will take place on the main side of the mountain so we're assured to get good vibe with music, food, etc.

Many exhibitors, free airbag jump, bbq, products give away and much more!!

The new organization puts lots of emphasis on the friendly aspect of racing, pros and amateurs are welcome and while beginners will find the tracks fun, pros will surely be challenged by the terrain and the 2000$ in cash prizes

For more information, please visit MAAXX EVENTS facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/La-Classique-Bromont/288745271213574# or ask here and I will try my best to get you the answer you're looking for.

Thanks!

Will the course be marked this weekend?
no sorry, but the course will essentially be the trail #18 with bits of the trail #9 to skip the big slick rock.

I think fast and fun describes it well. We are preparing the the dual slalom for now and next week we will work on the DH course.

So open men and open women for DS right?
I'm looking into that, the sure thing is that the course will be open on friday and saturday for practice.

Picture from this morning of the finish area:

I can't tell where the finish line will be, but something tells me it's going to involve that pool!

Talk about last minute! Guess it doesn't make much of a difference. Thanks for the video, looks fun. What's going on there at the bottom ram? Is that a jump into the wooden landing?

Yes!

Here's a video of the downhill track, it has been done with an xc bike at 8pm so sorry about that, it's more to give you an idea. Great mix of fast and technical sections, thanks to Kyle Sangers, Mitch Delfs and Mathieu Dupelle for their help with those sticks!

Rode the DS course today... I loved ripping berms and the grass corners. The bottom of the course is a bit tricky but a lot of fun overall. Wish I was racing, but have a conflict unfortunately. Nice meeting you today vincent.

That video brought back some great memories. I miss Bromont but it looks like it's still the same fast techy terrain I remember.

Keep your eyes on majorcycles.com, everything will be posted there soon with a recap video. Thanks to everyone who were there, that was a sick week-end! There were less racers than expected but there is hope for a bigger event next year as comments were very good from everyone I talked to.

yeah, it will be great once the Feds and the Province get their acts together and fix the Champlain bridge.

(at least I think that's what you said)

bingo,I know I wasn't the only one upset about this.

The fqsc got the dates wrong on the posters and cards with all the race venu dates.

I had left 7 o clock, to get there,It was 7:30 about to hit the bridge and hour and a half to 2 hours latter I finaly GOT ON THE BRIDGE.

apperently the comissioner had left 30 minutes before I had showed up,they said if he wouldnt of LEFT THE PREMISES they would of let me register late no problem seing my cat wasn't the first ones to go at 11.
